Eunji was happily driving her new car and couldn't help but stare at her reflection in the rearview mirror.
She was very content with what she had at the time, but she knew that some things had to change drastically and she was fine with doing that.
When she finally arrived in front of her company she was quickly greeted by Junseo who opened the luxury car door making her get out without any difficulty.
Well, what could be said? She was covered in spots on her neck and the secretary couldn't help but smile in his heart to learn that her boss was seeing someone.
If it made him have a smoother work schedule he would definitely wish a thousand years of blessings and undying love for the young couple.
Eunji let her car be parked by one of her employees and quickly entered the company with firm, resounding steps. All eyes were on her and she even blatantly showed that she had a great night, making everyone gossip and feel sour about being single.
She knew in her heart that this would soon be circulating among her family members and she couldn't wait to talk to them. It would be really interesting.
Entering the elevator Junseo delivered a brief report on everything that had happened in Eunji's absence and she listened attentively, even though she knew that much of what he reported was of no importance.
She didn't even care about small contracts, that it was left to the company's departments... They were paid so she didn't have to deal with that series of problems.
Eunji hated poorly done work. She sighed in irritation.
Being inside her room she faced the series of documents that had been waiting for her since early in the morning, but she was content sleeping with her girlfriend, so no time was wasted.
She calmly called out to Junseo and he quickly appeared in front of her. "Call the investigators and ask them to stop following the woman... No longer necessary."
The secretary looked confused, after all they had called the night before claiming to have important information about her. "But Miss Kim... They called saying they had something urgent to report."
Eunji raised her eyebrows and didn't stop feeling worried, it was really troublesome knowing that Hyejin could be discovered and reported at any moment.
Well, she was smart and versatile, despite the detectives initially helping her informing her about Hyejin's steps, their sudden approach and involvement made it not take long for her to understand that maybe it was a big setup.
She really didn't have any expectations of getting anything from Jeon, but surprisingly they opened up about their issues and now seemed to be in a serious relationship.
She still felt uneasy and a little worried that maybe it was all too early and they were being carried away by the excitement, but they would only discover that in time.
Her biggest concern at that moment was still protecting Hyejin and preventing her from being investigated.
"Okay, call their office and put me through."
Junseo nodded and quickly made the call and Eunji wouldn't wait much more than a few minutes, she paid well and was considered a vip customer. Orders from her were seen as the highest priority order.
The secretary made a brief sign warning that it was enough for Kim to put the phone to her ear and so she did.
She barely greeted and heard the man talk about all the information he had gathered about Donghae and Hyejin, she listened to Hyejiin's information with some curiosity... After all, she was her girlfriend.
And of course, it didn't take long for her to find out that Hyejin wasn't a prostitute, let alone frequenting bars or nightclubs.
Jeon had a quiet, homely life, spending most of the time completely missing where they couldn't follow her as if she went up in smoke, but at other times she just looked like a small business owner going to work and visiting her relatives.
Eunji knew perfectly well what the disappearances meant and despite lightly probing the investigator's suspicions he didn't seem to have in mind that she might be chasing and killing people.
He seemed innocently to think she was meeting Donghae in secret.
She smiled, satisfied by the man's pathetic thoughts and quickly asked him to stop wasting time on her and focus exclusively on Donghae... Besides, she wanted all her brothers to be under her radar... Especially her brother who was out of the loop. country, she had heard rumors that he worked for the police and was serving undercover somewhere in a neighboring country.
She revealed what little information she knew and the investigators agreed to change the direction of the investigation without any kind of questioning, money could silence even the most curious of men.
Simple and effective.
But the call was not at all a waste of time, she had discovered that Donghae was bribing and interfering with police investigations, he wanted to somehow escape the whole scandal by invalidating and disappearing with evidence.
No evidence, no crime.
Hanging up the phone, she called Junseo again and made him lock the door to her room, ensuring that no one came in during the conversation with him. "Any news on Donghae?"
Junseo nodded, it was really troublesome to find the information about the old orphanage that didn't even exist in present times.
He had to walk the arduous path with the old fairs and priests who ran the place and dig through the endless dusty folders about little Donghae before his adoption. But yes, it was something he did successfully.
"I am arranging the information he requested according to your orders... I must meet with him this weekend."
Eunji smiled satisfied.
It would be really shocking for Donghae to find out that his family was miserable and didn't want him.
He was a boy with a tragic and difficult past, but that wasn't Eunji's problem and she would just use it to her advantage, let him handle this information in her own way.
"Well... Keep giving him some information so he doesn't suspect anything... Get the number of these people, they're his biological parents... I want to get in touch with them for a little chat."
The secretary couldn't help the surprise in his heart and the fear...
He thought it was really dangerous the way they were dealing with it all, it felt like playing with poison and even though he was more afraid of Eunji than Donghae, he still feared the man's bad temper.
"B-But..."
Eunji looked at her secretary's unsure face and smiled feeling funny, a man might look brave but appearances were really fragile and liars.
"Afraid he'll find out?"
He shamefully assumed his fears and in response heard a small laugh from Eunji.
"Yea..."
She subtly dropped the papers she was holding on her desk and smiled, her good mood unaffected by the cowardice of others. "Junseo, even in the short time I've helped you, I'm satisfied with your loyalty… But cowardice isn't something I appreciate… Nothing should happen to you. Rest easy and just do your job."
He nodded sheepishly, trying to reassure himself. "Right..."
The secretary lowered his face slightly, the truth was complicated for the man who was working as a double agent.
Junseo pretended to help Donghae while loyally following Eunji's orders.
Eunji had set up a whole conspiracy before she even set foot in Korea, she contacted Junseo and paid off his debts, completely ridding him of any problems and kindly offered him a great job at a great company.
He should only obey and loyally serve her.
She asked him to apply for the post of secretary and she had him chosen in the end.
Before he even officially reported for work he knew he had to deal with Donghae, who was an old acquaintance of his and he gladly accepted.
There wasn't any kind of surprise about the hiring or about Junseo, it was all articulated and manipulated by Kim.
She knew that her secretary should be someone she could trust and her choice was someone who verged on despair... Save him and in return ask for loyalty until death.
Eunji would not accept someone serving her and when she least expected it the person would run to her parents or even Donghae and inform her steps or decisions.
The secretary quickly left Eunji's room and she calmly took her papers back, in a few minutes a meeting would take place and she needed to finish seeing the contents that would be presented to her.
