CH49. Did you believe her?

Even thought the smile is forced, it still touches his heart. His heart that had been so cold before begins melting.

He forgets his sorrows and hands her the plate with a small smile on his lips.

He likes it when she does not resolve to violence. Or when she does not get mad at him. But he loves it when she remains obedient and even smile at him.

He watches in ecstasy as she slowly eats her food and he loves everything. He has grown to like everything about her now.

It feels good being close to her and taking care of her. It is a little fun being someone's servant after all. 

Xiao Xiao obediently finishes her food and places the plate back on the table. "Thank you young master," she says with another smile.

Lu Min Chen looks at her in confusion. How the hell did she change her attitude all of a sudden?

Did his threats in the afternoon work? He stares at her beautiful face for a little longer and his heart begins beating first again.

He sighs. "You stopped being mad at me because of  what I did to you in the afternoon?" He questions sweetly.

Ye Xiao Xiao shakes her head,surprising the man. "That was not the young master's fault. I was the one in the wrong. I angered the young master. I am sorry," she says.

"Didn't the manager say that she should try being good to him? She can try and see the results.

Lu Min Chen coughs when she apologises. "Are you okay Ye Xiao Xiao?" He asks with uncertainty.

"Mmh," Ye Xiao Xiao nods. "I am fine young master."

Lu Min Chen smiles. Even though he does not know the cause of her change, he loves it.

He remains silent for a little while then turns to look at her again. "I heard what Han Chan said to you," he says at last.

Those words that woman spoke have been troubling him since morning. He would have gotten rid of her immediately had his grandmother not been supporting her from behind.

He would have minded if those words had been said to someone else, but he got scared because it was Ye Xiao Xiao who was being told.

She is the girl he likes, and he does not want there to be any misunderstandings about him to her. He wants her to know only good things.

Ye Xiao Xiao freezes when he says this. Did he hear everything? Why didn't he stop her from saying it?

And why didn't he punish her for saying such words about him. She looks at his face and trembles.

But funny enough, the man does not seem mad. Instead, he holds her eyes with his and moves closer to her. "Did you believe her?" He asks.

Ye Xiao Xiao remains quiet because she does not know how to respond. Did she believe her? 

She has been confused about those words all through. She does not know whether they are true or not.
