That is when he came back to his senses. And he slid through the pipe downwards.
Just as he touched the ground, the whole house exploded. He wanted to run in to save his dad, but he knew it was umpossible.
"There is the child," he had heard someone say.
And he took off to his heels, for his dad, and for his sister.
Lin Mo ran for a long time. He ran until his legs could not hold him any longer.
And just when he thought that he could rest, a sharp pain pierced through his chest, then there was a loud sound.
He had been shot. He even thought he was dead.
But he heard people walk closer to him. And he knew that it was his time to act strong.
Despite the pain he felt, he remained calm, not even breathing.
He knew that if he were to run, he could never escape these people.
One man had kicked him. "He is dead. No more evidence!"
And they had walked away.
After they left, Lin Mo rose. With pain in his body, he ripped off his shirt and held it against his chest, where he was bleeding.
Then he dragged himself away. He knew that he had to find help.
Luckily, he reached the highway. And he went ahead of the first car he saw on his way.
He knew they would not knock him down. So, he took the gamble.
And actually, the car stopped. The first thing he did was push himself into the car. "Save me," he had cried when he felt his energy leaving him.
He does not remember anything that happened after that. He must have fallen unconscious.
But when he woke up, he was in the hospital, and a beautiful woman was sitting beside him, holding his hand.
"Mom?" That was the first thing he called.
But after some seconds, he remembered everything that had happened. And he cried.
He is all alone. His mom died. His dad had been killed. His sister was gone...
The woman tried to calm him down, but he had felt like he could not get well if he did not cry.
After several minutes of crying, he fell asleep again.
But the woman was still around when he woke up again.
"You are awake dear, how do you feel?" She had asked him softly.
"Sad," he had said truthfully.
"Still sad?" She asked. "What happened? Do you want to share it with me?"
A man walked in, and the woman introduced him as Master Lin, her husband.
"The police will be here soon," the man had said.
"The police?" Lin Mo had asked. "You called the police?"
"Yes dear," the woman said. "The people who did this to you must pay. And your parents should be found."
But he shook his head. "I do not have parents. They are all dead. And those people are dangerous!"
"But you still need to explain what that happened to the police. They will help you," Master Lin said.
