CH274. Their first meal together

"Xiao Xiao, are you fine?" Lu Min Chen asks her worruedly.

Ye Xiao Xiao nods her head. "I am fine," she says.

Lu Min Chen does not care that she is always trying to distance herself and holds her hand. "Come, let us go home."

Ye Xiao Xiao yawns, but she does not turn him down. She is just too exhausted and would like to sleep.

Lu Min Chen even tried holding back. He would have wanted to carry her if he did not know that the old man was obviously looking at him through the window of his lab.

Once in the car, Lu Min Chen pulls a box of food he had ordered in advance. "You have not eaten anything today," he says and unwraps it for her.

Ye Xiao Xiao's heart skips a little. He noted that she did not eat anything at all?

And she takes the food without any delay. She was starving.

Lu Min Chen watches her with pity. It must have been hard for her being with the old man the whole day.

"Did he treat you badly?" He asks softly, leaning closer to her.

Ye Xiao Xiao pauses, but she shakes her head. That is his grandfather, and she does not want to wrong any of them.

"Tell me if he does, I can try helping you out," Lu Min Chen adds and looks out of the window.

But that is only for a few seconds. He turns to stare as she eats the food with relish. She looks cute, and he would like to watch her forever.

It is only after she has finished the food that Ye Xiao Xiao lifts her eyes. 

But she is shocked to find him looking at her. She opens her eyes wide in confusion. 

And Lu Min Chen smiles at her. "Was it good?" 

Ye Xiao Xiao nods. She has to accept that the food was so sweet. "Thank you," she says.

Lu Min Chen nods at her, and he extends his fingers to wipe away the food remains at the corner of her lips.

His assistant who is the driver is so shocked that he almost loses control.

But he quickly adjusts and apologises.

Ye Xiao Xiao is also shocked that he can treat her that nice, as though she is a kid.

But she tells herself to remain calm. She best knows how this man's emotions are never constant.

Reaching home, Lu Min Chen makes sure he walks beside her today. Hevean knows how he has been wishing to do it the last three days that she came home by herself.

And he does not allow her to go to her room today. "Dinner is ready," he says and points at the dining table. "Let us eat together today."

He gives her no room to refute and pulls her to chair. He takes the seat opposite her and serves two plates of food.

Even though Ye Xiao Xiao is not very hungry now, she still sits down and eats quietly.

This is their first meal together since they got married.
