CH213. Yearning to see him before she sleeps

"Mmh?" Lu Min Chen asks in confusion. "Do you really need her as your daughter in law?"

Is his mom waiting until she becomes fully someone's wife before she begins pitying him?

"Don't have a fight with her over other men. Fight your own battle. Try forcing,  just like I told you. You will see the results," Madam Lu advises.

Lu Min Chen pauses for a while before walking away again.

"Wait, food is almost ready," Madam Lu says, remembering that he has not eaten anything.

"I did not say I was hungry," Lu Min Chen tries without turning back.

Madam Lu wants to say something more, but she stops and smiles. "Make sure Xiao Xiao eats well. Try harder my son," she says and walks back to the living room.

It does not matter if her son has not eaten at home today. What is important now is him getting the love of his life. Other things will come later.

When Lu Min Chen gets home, dinner is ready. Ye Xiao Xiao is already seated ready to start eating.

Lu Min Chen sits gracefully opposite her and serves himself. But he can tell that she has turned uneasy since he appeared.

They eat quietly, none of them speaking. But from time to time, Lu Min Chen adds food to her plate. His mom said he should make sure she eats well. Gladly, she eats what he serves her.

But when they are almost done, he lifts his head to look at her. "Are you going out tomorrow?" He asks her calmly.

"Yeah, I will be meeting brother Mo," Ye Xiao Xiao answers.

Lu Min Chen is quiet for a while. He had thought that she would change her mind. But that was his own imaginations.

"Mmh," he nods his head without saying more. He better tries what his mom advices him to. Who knows? It might work.

Ye Xiao Xiao is shocked by his response. She had expected him to get mad and even ban her from going. But he has just tacitly agreed.

Today, Lu Min Chen goes to his room obediently. He does nothing to her. He only wishes her goodnight as though they are a sister and a brother and goes to his room.

Ye Xiao Xiao watches his back in wonder. But then, she sighs and walks to her room. She is not used to this side of his 

It even makes her feel like he is assuming her.

But... Does she prefers that side of his that he can do anything that comes to his head?

She has grown used to him like that. He would come and force a kiss on her. Yet he would not expect her to complain or cry.

But today, he has not tried anything stupid since he left in the morning. And he is not aware how much she waited for him.

She does not know why she was waiting for him to come back home. But her heart was yearning to see him before she sleeps.
