CH19. You dare ditch me in your room Ye Xiao Xiao!

A thought comes to her mind and she walks to a certain door. After some hesitation, she knocks.

After some time, her best friend in the orphanage, Wang Ting Ting opens the door. "Xiao Xiao," she calls in surprise. 

"I came to sleep," Xiao Xiao says and gets to the house.

Ting Ting is surprised. "What is wrong? Why don't you sleep in your room?" She asks.

"I saw a ghost. And I am afraid of sleeping there. It might eat me up. Just let me sleep here today, only today," she begs.

But Ting Ting looks at her with confusion. "A ghost? Let us go and see," she says. "The manager prohibited sharing of beds. We might end up in trouble if we are caught."

"No, don't go there," she says. "No one will tell the manager. I will go away very early in the morning before the manager wakes up."

She looks like she wants to cry. "Please Ting Ting, you are the only friend I have around. There is nowhere else I can go."

After pleading for a long time, Ting Ting finally allows her to stay the night. Xiao Xiao hugs her happily. "You are the best. We are sworn friends now!'

The moment Xiao Xiao steps out of the room, Lu Min Chen sits up also and creases his brows. Where did she go?

He walks to the window and peeps out. He sees how she walks around, like a stray dog before knocking at one of the doors.

He gets mad. She prefers going against the set rules just to avoid sharing a bed with him? Does she detest him that much?

He sits back on the bed for a long time, his heart hurting so much. What will he do to bring her close to himself? She seems to be taking two steps away whenever he takes one in approaching her.

'You dare ditch me in your room Ye Xiao Xiao? I will make you beg me for forgiveness,' he says and clenches his fists.

He laughs when he realises how childish he has become. But she is the one turning him into this person. A person that he too does not recognise.

After trying to calm himself down, he stands up to leave. But a small book at the side of the table catches his attention.

He walks up and looks at it. He realises that it is a diary. 

Young master Lu has always been a person who respects other people's privacy. He knows that a diary is someone's personal item. It won't be good if he goes through it.

But he gets too anxious. He wants to know what her thoughts are. He stands still for a while. "Hhmph, this is your first punishment for leaving me alone," he says and opens the book.

The first pages are her grievances after the death of her father. He pities her when he reads them. Too pitiful!

But his eyes open wide when he reads the last pages.
