CH179. No harm will befall it

It has been very rare seeing her like this, especially when the young master was at home, like today.

Lu Min Chen nods when he hears his reply. He is not worried that she might escape because he has all her documents.

And also, there is no way she can leave his compound without him noticing.

He walks upstairs, but he walks straight to the window and looks down at the backyard.

He sees her small silhouette clearly by the pond. And he does not know why she is just staring at it.

But her actions do not escape him. After staring for a while, Ye Xiao Xiao removes the ring on her finger and without thinking, throws it into the pond.

Lu Min Chen is startled for a few seconds before his breathing hikes. 

That is the ring that he had given her on the engagement day. He has been happy these past few days when he saw her still putting it on.

It had given him hope that there might still be a chance with her. But today, she went and threw it into the pond.

What has happened to her? She has changed just all of a sudden.

Lu Min Chen tries very hard to suppress his so fast beating heart.

Maybe she hates it because it was initially prepared for Han Chan?

Mmh, that can be a logic explanation. He was also unsure about the thought. But he had decided to do it temporarily.

That day during that family gathering, he was not planning to agree getting engaged to Han Chan at all.

By all means, he was looking for a way to ruin the whole plan. 

Before even the incidence, he had been planning to relocate the orphanage. He felt that the place was not safe and conducive enough for the children.

He had planned to share it with his grandpa of course, but the old man seemed to be in a bad mood with him at that time.

So,he kept quiet and did everything all by himself. After all,the old man had always been threatening him with the orphanage any time he wanted to force Lu Min Chen to do something.

That morning, when his grandpa warned him about Ye Xiao Xiao, he had gotten so angry.

As a result, he immediately completed the procedures with the new site and asked his assistant to move the kids away.

And he planned on refusing straight forwardly getting engaged to Han Chan.

As far as he kept the new orphanage a secret from his grandpa, no harm would befall it.

But a thought had come to his mind that day when he saw Ye Xiao Xiao.

He had decided to propose to her instead. And he had smiled imagining what his grandpa would look like at the time he did so.

He wanted to ask his assistant to bring him a different ring, but he came against the idea. 

He did not want to take a risk and expose his plan.
