Man With Vivid Dreams.

"Isn't it kind of amazing how a person who was once a stranger can suddenly, without warning, mean the entire world to you"

People dream about living the experience, living the stories that are passed onto the generations, some stories that they could share with their grandchildren, friends, family.

The first day at college for many is one them, fresh faces & the strangers coming up with reasons and excuses to start the conversation and friendship, some wannabe last benchers who want to be punk ass group, some start kissing ass of faculties from day one, and last comes the people who want to be in good company but ends up in the worst,

Now One thing I learned till now is that failure in life is inevitable, failing in pursuing your ambition or passion and taking that 9-5 job you hate so much, being a failure in your parent's eyes, from being their biggest mistake to never meet eyes with them, or maybe failing the love of your life by not being the loyal one they thought we could be, believe me, we all fail someday,

My first day at college, I already lost half the battle, for the past 3 years, I did everything I could to get into one of those prestigious IIT's, Engineering was not my dream, but getting into the IIT's was, from going into the best coaching classes to scribbling off my pen at 3 am, even taking a gap of one year after my high school seemed like a risk worth taking,

But life it is, I was thrown into a college whose name I knew because once it was my exam center for IIT, yes irony's a bitch,

My college was closer to my home but still, I preferred to opt for the college's hostel rooms, among the boys, I was the first one to reach the hostel and the rooms weren't allocated yet & after living a year in Kota alone, this wasn't new to me, I was told to drop the luggage and go to the college for first-year student's inauguration ceremony.

It was summer, the blazing sunlight was making me feel warm and drained, though I've hardly done a thing to begin the day, my hesitation for my first day at college was visible, I was taking smaller steps and the closer I was getting to my college the more weights my legs were feeling maybe they didn't want to face the reality.

I finally reached to my college gate, looking up to the college gate with the brand name of the college Gopishyam College of Engineering and Technology, it was a single building, consisting of every department of the college, its canteen and library, it was like a big fucking shopping mall.

I put my head down, and walked through the entrance, watching my legs struggling to stop and run back home,

The college watchmen whistled & directed me to a long queue of students, I walked and joined into them, standing in a queue in the summer heat was the last thing I wanted, when all of a sudden I heard someone,

From my back someone was singing, what seemed like the song which I hated at that time, I felt like I was having a migraine & all I wanted was to stop him somehow, I turned my back to him and with a broad smile, I interrupted.

'Hi, I am Dev, Dev Goyal', I said.

The guy was wearing a loose T-shirt and sleepers, having a mumma's haircut & an oddly curved nose.

'Hi Dev I am Ishaan, he replied.

I was glad, that I made his singing stop, but all I knew that was a big mistake, the guy fired with questions continuously, and at that time I was confused as to how much should I open myself.

After some time the long queue was asked to move to the auditorium, and there I was wondering, the type of college I was stuck with, and with Ishaan, he was still talking about something from which I was continuously zoning out.

We reached the auditorium which was in the campus building and Ishaan started haranguing about how they rent their auditorium for movies and this auditorium was in Movie Bhoothnath.

We took our seat & everyone was waiting for the show to get started, someone from the audience walked up to the stage and, 'Good morning students, I am Satyanarayana murti the academics dean of your college', his voice echoed throughout the auditorium,

He had kind of a bossy voice & wearing an Armani coat and a Rolex, his presence could be weighed, his eyes were rolling to each side of the auditorium and everyone in the audience went silent. There was pure silence,

(baammm!) the back door of the auditorium was opened by a big thrust and every eye present faced towards the sound, I was least bothered to look until Ishaan stroked me hard,

I barely got a face so I stood up half to see what I was missing, A girl with a big smile was cutely holding her earlobes and was smiling childishly for her way through the crowd, her pink side purse with glittery stars all over was shining the most, unbelievable it may seem, but she was breath-taking, she wasn't doing a thing that I could explain, except I felt like she could be the one that would hold my universe together & before I could snap her 1000 images in my mind she ran towards the seats in the back.

I was blushing already thinking, 'Afterall the college ain't so bad'.

The dean started his speech by his lecture on discipline and pointing towards the girl, how it is not tolerable, I didn't know her at the time but started feeling bad for her, day one and she is already targeted by the dean of this sucky college.

My instincts were telling me that she is a troublemaker, I was zoning out of the dean's speech until the thunderous speech ending claps woke me up, we were instructed to join our classes & In the crowd, I was jumping to get a glimpse of her for one more time, but I wasn't very lucky,

We went into our respective classes, Ishaan was still with me, the whole day then just paced away with me in thoughts of her, coming up with approaches, and with excuses for conversations, thinking funny lines.

The faculty at the end of the session came and gave us a lecture on how anti-ragging policies are there to protect us & the seniors have thrown a small party for our welcome,

We started moving towards the common party hall, and my heart started pounding, I felt maybe here I could meet her, Outside the party hall, A banner was hanged, "FRESHER'S PARTY 2017" & inside, with some rock funky music & unlimited buffet, well I was famished & the seniors did their best to make the scenes funny,

On the walls, there were posters of auto drivers, veggie sellers, clerks with the title "famous alumni of our colleges", that still chuckles me.

I could see what the party was really about, the seniors were gathering & scouting their upcoming dates, flaunting about their social status, cars & bikes & to introducing themselves as presidents of clubs, everyone seemed to be doing okay, but my eyes were waiting & rolling for someone else,

I found some guys looking & pointing in some direction, & I paced myself, oh!, it was the same girl & upon her arrival, my pounding heartbeats could be seen from my shirt, My eyes were tracing her cute slender figure & the closer she came, the better I could view her, Her eyes of velvet-black, blinked once slowly as if they were pulling me towards her.

Her crescent-shaped eyebrows inclined slightly as she saw me staring at her. I yelped at being caught. However, her broad smile prevented my panic attack. oh !, I could tell, it was love at first sight, & that's how it all started, I was ready to be doomed.
