Have you ever wondered how we're able to know the age of our planet?

Earth is actually very young in the cosmic scale.

The reason we're able to know this is due to radiation. The breakdown of radioactive isotopes is predictable to an accurate range.

Although it is practically impossible to find out the exact age of rocks due to the constantly changing present, we were able to get a very close estimate.

If I were to find out the age of this world, I'd need equipments to carry out Radiometric dating.

That is, if it were the past me…

Although it would be tremendously slow to get the exact age, I'd be able to find out a lot more.

So that is what I've been doing ever since I came in this world.

The five senses boosted by genetic modifications came into play as I simulated forest and crunched those numbers.

And the answers were unfortunately the same as the script provided me with.

Three Billion years.

Within six billion years, this world had more than one intelligent species comparable to humans back on earth.

Although they are far behind in technology and civilization as a whole. They had the same, if not more intelligence than an earthling.

While earth was able to become the home of more than Fifty million species, only one was able to truly gain intelligence…

This world on the other hand had three, minus the aliens of course.

Should this be credited to the Deities or the presence of Mana?

I reckoned that both had a part in it.

The civilization lacked the advancement in technology due to never having the requirement of it. Mana compensated for almost everything tech did.

The deities were mostly responsible for the spike in IQ. Although it's not clearly mentioned in the script, even a child would know that the deities had a hand in it.

"Maybe they bestowed knowledge?"

"What are you talking about" Tessia interjected my train of thought as she sat beside me on the balcony of her room.

The outside view was something I've come to like about her room. So we hung out here mostly.

It had been a few months since we met, although we didn't have a great start. I was able to get close to her after tiring her out from all the pranks.

Turns out, I'm a teacher now.

Don't ask me why an orphan is doing that instead of the nobles of this kingdom, I don't know either.

Speaking of nobles, I met some of them. Contrary to my expectations, they were pretty civil. The kids were mischievous, but that was it.

There was no malice towards a commoner like me.

The adults were also quite normal. Nothing like the greedy foolish ones you'd read in an isekai novel.

I should probably stop comparing them like that…

"Nothing, I'm just thinking what the outside world is like." I replied to Tessia before taking out a candy from my pocket.

I suppose its normal for educated people to not be foolish like the novels I read before coming here. And thank god it is. I don't think I have the patience for any side quests.

"At times like these, you don't look like a baby." She poked my cheek after seeing me eat the candy.

"That's because I'm not a baby. I'm older than you."

"EH! LIAR! Grandpa told me you're five years old."

"Nope. I have a disease that slows down my body's growth."

She looked at me in shock before she started laughing about it.

"Pffft. What's that supposed to be. I've never heard of a disease like that. How come grandpa didn't tell me about it?" And as you'd expect form a kid, she didn't think much about it.

"I've already told them about it."

I wasn't lying about it. I really did tell them that I'm older than I look. Virion Eralith didn't believe me at first, but gave me the benefit of doubt after I showed him my strength.

The reason I revealed it was because I didn't want to play house with Tessia. The plan unfortunately backfired on me.

Turns out being a 14-year old human who died from natural causes and later reincarnated as an elf didn't really matter much to beings who live up to more than 200 years.

I became her teacher in the end.

"WAIT! is that why grandpa picked you teach me all this!?"

Tessia asked after realization set in. She flipped the table, or at least tried to with those small arms before pointing at me with an accusatory glare.

"Yes. And it seems break is over. Let's get back to Statistics shall we?"

"NO! 1/0 is true!" She ran away like she always did while cursing me in maths.

It was a common symptom in university students with a math major. I didn't expect her to get it too…

Well it didn't matter, this is her room, she'd have to come back eventually. And I'm not leaving until she completes the assignment.
