pillaging the battlefield

The battle between Arian and the warlock caused the low-level fighters to keep their distance. The shock waves were so much that it caused many of them to fumble and die as a result. so, many of them created distance from their battle.

Of course, this didn't change the fact that the battle here had been brutal. Bodies of both Warlocks and hunters could be seen littered all over the place.

This sight was miserable.

Around 60 meters away from Arian

"Hmm? What's this?"

Leon bent down and picked up a bottle of a gray liquid and examined it, it gave off some faint mana and smelled Fragrant. He couldn't quite put his finger on what it was exactly, but it seemed nice.

"Cool" Leon, After examining the bottle for a few seconds, put the bottle into a bag that was hung on his shoulder. He then proceeded to walk forward and stopped before another body.

" Ah? A Warlock scroll..." Leon reached downwards and picked up a rolled up parchment of paper on the side of the warlock.

"Yh….not compatible" After a brief examination, he threw it to the side. Not all Warlock scrolls could be practiced by other warlock clans, they were mostly tuned to their specific bloodline. This was one of the reasons the healing spell Leon got was so surprising to the fourth elder. It was also the reason he was later easily convinced that the spell was from the matriarch.

Meanwhile, Arian and the warlock from the gray salamander clan were still locked in the heat of battle

—Clang

Arians sword struck the Warlock's scimitar, causing him to be pushed back.

"Annoying" quickly regaining himself, the warlock spat and in the next second he disappeared into the corner of Arians left eye.

Warlocks from different clans had different abilities and spells tuned to their bloodlines. for this warlock, it seemed to be a sort of optical illusion kind of magic that allowed him to disappear into the blind spot of his opponent. It was a very useful technique/spell in any battle. It was like fighting a ghost.

"Wind tempest"

Seeing the move from the warlock, Arian activated a spell and all of a sudden, a tempest of wind blew around her, pushing numerous objects away from her vicinity, one of which was the warlock.

And the sound of him falling to the ground drew her attention to his figure right behind her.

If she hadn't done that, he would have sneak attacked her and might have even killed her.

"This girl is troublesome" the warlock said while kneeling on one knee. This technique of his was normally very effective when it came to sneak attacks, but she didn't even need more than a few seconds to counter it. It was like she was bred for battle.

—Dung

While the warlock was in deep thought, a fist - sized rock flew through the air and hit him on the head out of nowhere.

"Hm?" Startled by this, he looked backwards and noticed a young man staring him down in a daring manner.

—Crunch!!

The sound of bones breaking sounded from beneath the feet of the young man.

"You??" After a brief moment, he quickly noticed that the young man was currently stepping on the face of one of his clansmen, slowly attempting to crush his skull.

"Stop!!!!" Filled with a sudden Intense rage. The warlock completely forgot about Arian and dashed at Leon in an attempt to stop him.

He couldn't stand to watch the corpses of his comrades get disrespected in this manner. It was unbearable.

"Wooshh" He was fast as lightening and within a second, he appeared in front of Leon

"die!!!"

He swung his scimitar at Leon's rib area, but before his strike could connect with Leon, Arian appeared right in front and took the attack.

—Boom!!!

"Hehehe," Leon laughed mischievously at this scene. Arian had no choice but to stop him. As per their contract, she couldn't let him die during this period of time, so she had to keep him safe no matter the circumstances.

As for the reason Leon had hit the Warlock with a rock? It was very simple. The 100-meter distance was too small, and all the good stuff on this part of the battlefield had either been pillaged by him or were useless to him.

It was time to go deeper into the camp, but he couldn't do so without Arian being in the vicinity. Now that he had drawn her close he could continue with his pillaging.

"Puuu" Leon started whistling, meanwhile making his way slowly into the main camp.

(I'll make sure I kill you myself!!)

Arian screamed in her mind at the sight of Leon walking deeper into the camp. She understood the logic behind his actions, but did he need to cause her this much trouble just because he wanted to pick up some treasure?

And again, there was another problem. Leon was strolling into the camp that was filled with tents and blind spots. She not only needed to keep this Warlock at bay, she also needed to make sure her eyes stayed glued on Leon inside the mess of the main camp.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Puuu" Leon whistled while strolling through the camp, there were several carriages and tents around the area, some were on fire, others had been flipped over by hunters. It looked nothing like the camp of the blood serpent clan. These guys had been beaten and bruised before being forced to this corner.

But this perilous situation gave them the chance to build up their camp in a more standard way. However, it was all futile. They were still burnt to the ground.

"Nice boots" Leon picked up some boots, meanwhile around him the sound of battle intensified the deeper he went into the battleground.

"Need more time" Leon frowned. He was gathering supplies for a purpose just as Arian was planning to keep him here, he was constantly thinking of ways to get the upper hand.

"System scan this potion and tell me its properties. ." Leon said, and the system window came up.

The system resounded in front of Leon.

"This world is really filled with some fantastic stuff" Leon said while looking at the window in front of him with some glee, a potion to remove exhaustion. He didn't have such in his past life, they had to learn stamina management like everybody else.

While Leon was marveling at the properties of the loot, he noticed something at the corner of his eyes.....

"Hm? Interesting" a young warlock could be observed running towards him, apparently being chased, so Leon slipped in-between the corner of two tents standing side by side.
