Chapter 33: Relatives from the Countryside

The freshly changed duvet and bedsheets still carried a faint scent of laundry detergent as Li Qiang finished washing up and lay on the fragrant bed ready to drift off.

Suddenly, the door burst open, and Wang Hongyan walked in with an excited expression.

Li Qiang reluctantly sat up, "Mom, I was about to sleep."

"Eh, you're this big, and there's nothing your mom hasn't seen before. Get up quickly, I've got something to tell you." Wang Hongyan excitedly sat on Li Qiang's bed, waving her cell phone.

"What is it?" Li Qiang glanced at his watch, "It's almost ten o'clock, can't it wait until daylight?"

"No way, they'll be here first thing tomorrow morning." Wang Hongyan frowned, slightly annoyed as she slapped Li Qiang's leg under the covers, "And you have to go pick them up."

With that, Wang Hongyan cheerily started chatting away on the phone, completely forgetting she was in Li Qiang's room to discuss something with him.
