Chapter 1

Brielle sat on a white painted chair with a cup of coffee in her hands listening to the music play from the headset she had on.She watched as customers swam into the café like fishes in pond.People around town seemed to like Mr.Hayford's café a lot and she was one of them.

She held chocolate cupcakes she had baked that morning in a wrapped box, impatiently waiting for someone.

With legs crossed her phone laid in her hands trying so hard to fast dial a number she memorized like her history notes. She watched as the receiver on the other end failed to pick up her countless calls.

The young lady had started to get worried failing to notice the tall, dark, muscular man before her who was trying so hard to get her attention.

"Oh!"

She exclaimed in surprise after noticing the man.

He pulled a silver painted chair in front of her table and sat across her. That morning, she was not interested in getting acquainted with any other gentleman as her desire to be loyal to her one and only boyfriend who was going to be jealous once he saw another man seated with her.

"My day got brighter after I saw you."The man said with a smile that reached his eyes.He must be in a good mood that morning, she thought. He wore a white shirt with two buttons unbuttoned from the top.The shirt gave a clear view of his muscular body.He was indeed handsome, she took to note.

"I have a boyfriend."She rudely replied with disgust apparent in her expressionless face.

"We can be friends then."He said still with a confident look on his face.He was definitely a man who failed to give up on something.

"I'm not interested."She said, picking up her phone from the table. She stood up as if seeing someone she knew, and with a knowing smile on her face she rushed to hug the person. The man turned, taking into consideration the view before him.The lady was really uninterested in him.

Although she wore baggy clothes with a blue jacket and Nike shoes, with no make-up on she looked beautiful. One could easily know she had an hourglass figure from the clothes she wore. Her nails were not painted like most girls, they were long and neat. How could he lose such a lady!

"I've missed you!"Luca, the brown haired man,who hugged her as if his life depended on suddenly broke the silence between them and the man stared with disgust.Surprised this was her type of man. That really proved the fact ladies just fall for anyone.

"I seem to have a competitor though."Luca said in mock anger. Tilting his head to stare at the man who was still looking.

"No!You have no competitor.Come..let's sit"She said guiding him to an empty chair just a little bit farther than where the other man sat.She passed him the cupcakes once they sat, waiting for a reaction but got none.

He seemed distracted watching messages regularly pop on his phone. He was so tense that he fidgeted every now and then.

"I..I can't do this anymore."

He spoke pushing the cupcakes back to her."I can't keep lying to you."

Brielle clearly knew what he was saying but decided to feign ignorance. No one,but her knew how experienced she was on the break-up field. "Let's break-up"He spat out as if he was being forced to say so.

"Why?" Brielle asked him dropping her coffee on the table. Her whole fairytale love suddenly came crushing on her head at a café.

Was that a place for a gentleman to break-up?..she thought

People who sat around started looking their way waiting for the lady's reaction.Would she slap him? Would she hit him with the cupcakes? Would she throw her tea on him? They impatiently waited.
