Connor

A few days had passed. Cody had been clearly avoiding him as much as possible. Connor huffed slightly in irritation, he hadn't even said goodbye when he left. After he went to all the trouble to sleep next to him to make sure he stayed warm. It'd not like he'd done anything. Well except that one kiss, but hey it wasn't his fault. Cody's cuteness level should be illegal. He had given up trying to not like Cody, his blond hair, blue eyes, and small size just made him into an adorable little….. he paused comparing him to a golden retriever puppy sounded mean, but it was so true!

Well its not like he could keep avoiding him forever. He sat in front of him during class and they were both on the starting lineup for the basketball team. Plus the first game of the season was tonight. He would have to not only pass to him but also talk to him during the game. Even if it was just the bare minimum to play the game he'd take it. His voice was so soft and sweet like warm ice cream that didn't melt, probably from a soft serve type machine.

He had ignored him through class even though he had poked him several times. Now that the lunch break had started he couldn't find him anywhere. Darn he hissed, even off the basketball court the little guy could lose any pursuers. He finally gave up and went to the roof to eat his lunch. He liked the view of the sky from there.

A few other students were also eating up here. A group of guys were messing with a worm with a sky attribute. He rolled his eyes watching them throw the worm. It flew through the air then activated its wind power and floated to the ground. For some reason that repeated move kept them highly entertained.

He almost laughed as he found Cody on the other side of an air vent eating a sandwich. Success! He slipped in front of him.

"Well hello there!" he smirked. To his surprise Cody turned red and adverted his gaze. He felt his smile grow. No way was he letting him escape now! Seeing Cody still doing his best to ignore him, Connor sat down right beside him and tossed his arm over his shoulder. Cody stiffened.

Vaguely pleased with his captured prey Connor said, "Now why have you been ignoring me?"

"Go away." Retorted Cody. Again to Connor's surprise he didn't push his arm off but instead kept his face turned away.

Suddenly a large spider appeared on the rooftop. It clenched its fangs and eyed its personal lunch room.

Cody groaned and muttered, "I hate spiders." He raised his hand as if to cast.

Connor was quicker this time. He froze the spider solid and shattered it with ease.

"Spider-ala-cart." He smirked looking at Cody who went back to his sandwich as if ignoring Connor's show. "What not even a good job?" he asked. This time Cody looked at him and purposefully rolled his eyes. "Ouch my pride" muttered Connor. To his surprise Cody stayed the entire lunch period with him. Maybe he finally gave up on hiding Connor thought.

Sadly Cody ignored him in class again. But he did walk with him to the gym for the home court basketball game. Connor called that a win in his book. Their jersey's were black with purple trim and white letters. He couldn't help admire how cute Cody looked in his.

The opposing team was wearing the blue and yellow of Waterfront University. Connor could of laughed at how easy the game was. The other team underestimated Cody way too much. The little pipsqueak could shoot a three pointer from basically anywhere on the court after all. Not to mention his jump height and speed were seriously unreal. Connor spent way too much of the game simply watching Cody play. Final score was 118 to 35. Sky Academy's win of course.

He and the team headed to the locker room and started to change. That was when it happened. A loud burst of thunder shook the whole room and someone in the gym yelled "Hurricane!" Everyone immediately headed toward the storm shelter areas.

Sharks with legs, a few random octopus, and lots of jellyfish swam into the building. Instant hurricanes always brought magical beasts with them. They swam freely through the water laced air. Connor froze and stood still staring. He couldn't get his legs to move.

"Oye!" yelled a voice. Connor shakily turned his head. Cody grabbed his shirt.

"Come on already." He dragged Connor into the bathroom area since the main gym shelter had already been closed.

"Connor freeze the door." Said Cody. Connor just stared at him blankly. "Hey! Frostbrain door freeze!" Cody smacked the side of his cheek.

"Ice blockkkk" Connor hoarsely whispered. The door froze over easily.

"You good?" said Cody looking at him. Connor had gone very pale.

"Jellyfish....." he whispered.

Cody stated at him, "Wait with all the potentially deadly things in this world, you're scared of jellyfish!?!?"
