Chapter 3: Emberfall Territory

Today i got permission to go visit the Emberfall territory with the condition that i need to take an Emberfall knight and my personel maid aliya with me.

For someone who used to live in a socialist society, it was weird to have alot of people look afteraccompany me everywhere, but i quickly decided to forget most of my pastlifes beliefs and embrace the feudalistic lifestyle here.

I and aliya are currently going to the training grounds to select a knight as our escort, aliya was assigned as my maid after few months of my birth by mother, aliya is 16 years old and a beautyful girl with short dark brown hair.

"So aliya, who should we choose ?"

'although i already knew who she would choose, it is fun to tease her'

"W, We can choose sir Ren Hawthorn, h,he's very strong"

"Oh, how do you know"

"T,Thats .. "

"Heh" a chuckle escaped my mouth

"Y,Young master dont tease me" she said with blushing face.

In this world the legal age of marriage decreed by His Majesty King Oberon Silverhart is 16 years of age, and aliya here has accepted a proposal from sir ren and are engaged.

Our trainingbgrounds span several kilometers and both mages and knight of our territory come to rust off their skills, commoners are also allowed in and if they are deemed capable by knight commander Gawain Hawthorn, they will be given formal training and be absorbed into the knight order.

Emberfall is in the border region of the kingdom sharing proximity with the Ducal House Emberwind. The ancestor of Emberfall has sworn allegiance towards the Ducal house of Emberwind after the war which stebilized the foundation of the kingdom in the past.

Thus we are allowed to increase our military strength by his majesty the king.

Sir gawain is a white haired oldman with a long scar on his face, his trainings are hellish and he has an opperesive aura but he's very soft towards kids.

"Oi, brat did you decide to train"

'Curse you old man'

"Haha sir must be joking, i'm only four years old also i am focusing to be a mage.

"Tch, mages are nothing to a knight, they do all that studying and still can't even scratch my skin, tsk tsk, if only they put that into training."

'Well he's right'

Unlike what i seen on mangas and novels, there are no skillbooks or skill cards in here, instead mages needa to study indepth about their elements and then use their imagination and the knowledge of the behaviour of the element to create spells.

Its basically science and mathematics but the knowledge level of this world is very low, but if you have a higher talent and understanding then its possible to recreate some spells, that is the reason mages come to the training fields to learn from others, its like an exchange of knowledge for them.

On the other hand knight train in various weapon arts and mana controll, enabling them to use mana in each strike amplifying the damage and efficiency. If a knight and a mage fought, the knight will win almost everytime, thus only those with higher talent and affinity or those who justndont want to train opt to become a mage.

"Sir gawain, i am here to ask for sir ren to escort me outside the mansion.

Sir gawain took a glance at the red aliya and looked in a particular direction and yelled out

"Ren, your fiance is here to ask for a date. Oh and take this brat too."

'This geezer has no respect for his employer, well employer's son. Ugh..'

Now we are riding on a carriage with the emberfall family crest on it (red glowing cubes with dark edges and some sparks.) riding down the pavements that leads to the town, with these lovey-dovey couple i feel like a sore thumb.

The Town mainly consists of residential buildings and shops that sells daily necessities, clothes, vegetables and taverns. There is a market that is located east of the towns square which in a walking distance from the mansion, i would have prefered walking as the pavements and the buildings give a pleasent vibe but i have to keep appearences as a noble.

This part part of territiry is a relatively wealthy neighbourhood, the town square is neat and well maintained, at the center of the town is the building of adventurers guild branch which issues subjugation quests for the magic beasts in the Northern forest area, various trade and travel routes goes through the forest thus employing adventurers as escort are also managed by the guild, near the guild building is a market for selling beast cores and monster materials.

East of our territory is an aggriculture fields and has a church of the son god and west side is a wetlands that is in process of reclamation. The southern side is consisting of mountain peaks and in the past was a major mining location, but now is just rock mountains.
