Saved

"Grrrrr~~" the Night Wolves' growl sounded like an engines.

The way they looked with their crimson eyes were full of hatred.

At this moment, four people stood beside the ice crystal dome, trapped by the giant wolves and no chance for escape. Everyone was breathing heavily and nervously, and very desperate.

Soon, the three Night Wolves cautiously walked forward. Everyone felt their bodies becoming tense. The sharp Night Wolf fangs that inflicted fear on them grew in their sight.

But suddenly, three seconds before the three wolves reached their faces, a burning object rolled in the air and struck one of the Night Wolves on the side between the ribs. There was no loud sound but it instantly halted the Night Wolf after it was stuck on its body. After a second, the Night Wolf's lungs inside it suddenly glowed like ember before it exploded on fire. The Night Wolf thrusted towards the other Night Wolf after the sudden fire explosion.

The black furs also burned quickly while the skin cracked dramatically, revealing the flesh inside burning like coal. In just a very short period of time, the Night Wolf's entire body was set on fire: The red eyes, the tongue, throat, and everything else except the bones did not survive being scorched to black.

The trapped adventurers were shocked and the Night Wolves were interrupted. No one has expected it. Where did that come from?

Without delay, everyone soon sensed someone moving. A figure of a man was seen coming out of the dark behind the bushes.

The man was dressed in black, also wearing a black cloth mask. The moonlight shone down on his face as the end of his neatly tied long hair fluttered.

Glin hurriedly ran towards the Night Wolf beside the one that was scorched to death. On his hand, he held the Frost Scabbard which was covered in ice except where his hand touched. The ice formed something like a thick sharp needle.

Meanwhile, the four people took the chance to move away from the remaining Night Wolves. They were unexpected pulled away from their death door just a moment ago. They've already considered themselves the luckiest of the day.

The closest Night Wolf opened its mouth towards Glin. But Glin rolled on the ground and escaped to the side. He planned to attack at this moment, but he suddenly noticed a movement from the other Night Wolf which was farther behind him. The Night Wolf also pounced him, but he managed to roll on the ground again until he was already below the its head. If he had been any second slower, he certainly would be dead at that moment.

He quickly stabbed the ice needle in the Night Wolf's throat after gaining the opportunity. After that he dashed away, leaving the Frost Scabbard stuck on the Night Wolf's throat. He expected what happened to the Night Wolf a few seconds later.

While Glin turned all his attention towards the last Night Wolf, the other one that got stabbed suddenly froze. Its jawbone and neck turned completely stiff while ice smeared all over its skin and furs. The Night Wolf turned into an ice statue before it fell to the ground completely after its frozen flesh teared.

At this moment, Glin has already drawn his other sword, facing the only one Night Wolf left alive. He pointed it towards the wolf and smirked behind his mask.

"Come, beast!" he yelled in his mind.

The remaining Night Wolf was already injured from the previous battle so Glin didn't have to worry much on how to deal with it. With enough agility and evasion, and his sword skill, the Night Wolf was killed when he slashed it multiple times and pierced its heart.

Glin heaved a long sigh and glanced at the terrible-looking corpses killed by his special relic. He's still amazed that such a weapon capable of doing this was made by humans. Whoever made this special relic of his must hold very vast knowledge in enchantment. Even so, he still believed that this special relic has some weakness and he's just not aware of yet.

After feeling satisfied with the result, he finally retrieved the Ember Sword and the Frost Scabbard from the dead bodies.

But when he was done, he noticed the few people staring at him while dumbfounded and unmoving.

Soon, the adventurers finally recovered and sighed in relief. They finally relaxed and sank wearily on the grasses. It wasn't very visible at this moment, but all of them were apparently bathed in sweat…

The Adventurers treated themselves and their other two colleagues who were unconscious. Unfortunately, they were out of healing potions so they were only doing what was possible. While they were doing that, Glin was busy collecting the spoils of the battle, collecting demon beast crystals out from the Night Wolves' flesh.

Everyone partly wondered why Glin was collecting something from the dead wolves' flesh. A Night Wolf's corpse was simply waste for them.

After more than a minute, one of the adventurers decided to approach Glin. It was the man who owned the spear relic who seemed to be the team leader.

"Young sir…" the man spoke from behind Glin.

Glin glanced at the man. The man had a great physique, tall but only a few inches taller than him. And older, probably at the same age as Xanus.

"I would like express our gratitude, thank you very much for saving us," the man bowed at Glin. Looking at the man's face, Glin could tell that the man still has more to say. And he was right.

"You saved us from certain death, we owe you our lives. Yet, if possible, if… you won't mind… please help our colleagues too. Please…"

The man was hesitating in his words because it was as if too much to ask for more favor from a stranger. But he still begged and kneeled at Glin. Glin never expected it.

Now that the man mentioned it, Glin finally saved attention to where everyone has gathered. The two unconscious people were battered and seemed to have lost a lot of blood from their severe wounds. If healing potions and regeneration potions didn't exist in this world, then perhaps the two people will not make it out here alive.

"Please help us," begged the man worriedly.

Glin breathed deeply and stood up. "Okay."
