Chapter 18

While Taria and Ve were looking around the house, Tian was looking for them everywhere, not knowing if he must be angry as his brother is closer to his lover than he is, or be happy that his cold brother treats his lover warmly, but Taria's voice calling him lively wiped away all his thoughts.

"Where have you been?", Tian said, putting his hand on Taria's head who came running towards him with sparkling eyes

"Ve showed me around the house, and it was amazing. how could you leave this place and live alone in that apartment?" Taria said, and Tian gave a cold smile to his brother who ruined his plans on being the one to take Taria around the house, then the three of them went to the dining room to eat breakfast.

The dining room was as imaginary as every other place in the Leo family's mansion. It has a huge chandelier above the round table, with glass balls hanging down like raindrops. The chef made so many delicious food to the point Taria couldn't taste every plate on the table, and after the food and the dessert, the truth part came.

Ve ordered every one other than Tian and Taria in the room to leave, and he ordered his men to stay at the door to prevent others from hearing the conversation, then Tian and Ve tried to explain the truth about the family for Taria

"So, your great grandfather saved the world from a world war, then many countries made him, and everyone who is blood related to him, above the law, but he used his power to fight against mafia", Taria said

"yes", Tian and Ve said

"So you are basically a mafia against the mafia", Taria said

"That's right", Tian and Ve said

"and how is that a bad thing?" Taria said while her hear tilted to the side

"Well, heroes in movies are different from real life. Killing a person, even a bad one, is basically bad, and it will make you a killer who has many enemies, but we can't stop doing that since the government pushed the responsibility to fight against the mafia at us. If we stop, the mafia will get uncontrollable, and if we continue, we will get more and more enemies every day", Tian said.

Taria got very confused knowing that the Leo family is a killers' killer. She was happy to know that Tian had a strong reason for killing, but she felt bad that he is in a position he can't control. Taria felt her past and present mixing together to form a black cloud that would cover her future. Her dad is a bad killer, and Tian and Ve are good killers, but what is the difference?

"No, Taria. They were born like that. They never chose to be killers, but that man did", Taria thought, then she sighed as if her brain broke.

"I'm happy to now that you didn't choose to be a killers but rather you were born as ones, on the other hand, I hate the fact that you had to do something you never chose for the rest of your lives, especially that this thing is so dangerous", Taria said while looking at Tian and Ve who were waiting for her reaction

"That's it?" Tian asked

"Yeah", Taria said, not knowing what he really meant, then Tian smiled warmly as if her words lift a huge rock off his chest

"Thankfully, I was really worried about your reaction", Tian said

"What did you expect?" Taria said

"I don't know. Maybe crying, or getting mad, or even leaving a dangerous person like me and go back to your normal life", Tian said, but Taria felt worried about his words

"Brother Ve, can you please give us a minute? I have something to say to Tian", Taria said calmly, then Ve went out after patting Tian's shoulder as if he was wishing him good luck.

Tian felt his heart racing with every step Ve took on his way out, while Taria stayed as calm as mountain, and after Ve was out, Taria turned towards Tian who got nervous, then she got up and walked closer to him.

Taria leaned towards Tian, putting one hand on the chair hand and the other on the chair back, surrounding him, and looking straight into his black eyes with a sharp look. She closed her eyes, and he did too, then she put her forehead on his, making it hard for him to breath, while she stayed calm even after feeling his hot forehead.

"I don't know why you get worried fast, but I don't want you to keep living like that. Tian, I would never leave your side, till the day I die", Taria said calmly, then she moved a little so she would be able to see his eyes again, then she took off her necklace while he was still closing his eyes. She held his hand softly, forcing him to open his eyes, and she put the necklace on the palm of his hand then she closed it.

"My mother once said, as long as we live under the same sky, we will be together no matter the distance. This sky blue earring will be your blue sky in the dark", Taria said while looking into Tian's eyes, then she smiled warmly and left, leaving Tian to face his feelings storm on his own.

Tian took some time to understand what just happened, looking at the necklace in his hand, and putting the other hand on his heart that was about to explode, then he covered his eyes with his hand while the other hand was holding the necklace tight and close to his heart.

Tian went out of the room after his heart calmed down a bit, then he went straight to Taria's room. He took a deep breath, and knocked on the door.

"Taria, it's me. May I enter?", Tian said

"One minute", Taria, who was changing her clothes as they got dirty while eating, said, then she opened the door for Tian who started laughing once he saw her.

"Idiot, you misspelled the buttons", Tian said, then he started fixing them for her

"Taria, I can't accept that necklace. I know how important it is for you", Tian said while he was still leaning to fix the buttons, or maybe he was just afraid to look at her face as he knew that his heart would start racing again.

"YOU are important to me, Tian", Taria said, making every cell on his body shiver.

Tian paused for a moment, then he stood up properly and hugged her gently. She didn't know what to do, so she just hugged him back.

They both knew at that moment that life is meaningless without each other, but they both were scared to take the first step. Tian wished that he could say those three words to her, he wished that he would hug her like that forever, look into her sparkling eyes for the last day of his life, and smell her hair everyday, while she was wishing that time would stop so she would be able to feel his warm body a little longer, however, a deep part of her mind was wishing that her dark past never existed, the past that keep her afraid of moving forward, the past that stand up like a huge mountain in front of her whenever she is about to make a decision, she wished, from all her heart, that she would just forget that past and live the present and future with the person hugging her.
