Dawn's uncle was angry, far more than he had ever been. Dawn tried to hide, but that only angered the man more. He pulled Dawn out of the pantry were he had been hiding. "Get out here you worthless boy! You freak! If I had my way you would have died that night on my doorstep!" The old man yelled.
This shocked Dawn. He had always wondered why his father's brother kept him when his parents abandoned him so soon after he was born. Dawn was tempted to use his powers to make the old man tell him what he wanted to know, but he was also afraid. As far as he knew, kids under 10 should not have magic. At ten, all kids inherit there animal spirit and the animals form that comes with it.
The punch to the gut brings Dawn back to reality. Dawn goes to auto pilot as the pain fills him. It was nothing to the pain of going months of bottled up magic. The magic in him was now numbing the pain best it could, but that was not what it was meant for. His magic is the magic of control and time, not healing.
Dawn could feel his world going black around him as he was thrown into the counter behind him. Dawn let the darkness take him. He was to lost in the dark, that he didn't hear the helicopter land. He was to far lost in the dark to see the mafia break down the door. Yet, he was not lost enough in the dark to feel safe in the arms of someone who picked him up as hig glamour fell.
Alister, the 25 year old mafia boss didn't know what he would see when he had his men tare down the old door. He never expected to see the man that owed him millions with a nice clean home, good food prepared on the table. What he didn't expect to see his client beating a small child. He motioned his men to seaze the man.
He walked over to small boy and felt the little one snuggle into him. His vampire was going crazy with a strange need to protect the kid in his arms as the child finals sank into sleep.
Alister looked up at his two guards. "Take him to the dungeon at work. Then you have the rest of the day off. Don't kill him, I want to do the honor." He ordered them in a low voice. They nodded and escorted the man out of there bosses sight.
Once they were gone, the vampire looked down at the boy in his arm, before heading to his helicopter. "Take me to my summer home in Hawaii." He told the pilot in the same low voice that told him not to question if the pilot knew what was good for him.
"Of course sir, right away." The pilot whispered as he took of. He relized immediately that waking the boy that now had his head on the bosses lap would be a terrible idea. No one, not even Alister's father was allowed to touch him. Alister would kill anyone that tried too, other than his parents, of course. 'I wonder who the boy is?' The pilot thout, but said nothing as he headed south.
