Chapter 10

At evening she was sitting in the garden feeling the fresh breeze while the children in the orphanage were playing.

"So tell me how's college is it fun, exciting I need all the details,"Myra asked.

"Well, the faculty and resources are good so it will obviously help in my career .But I cannot say the same about people it's like they are on a fashion show and always competing to be more popular.

In fact I thought I will have more trouble adjusting but as long as I focus on myself I think I can manage, yes there are some formalities which force me to be in limelight occasionally but other than everything is okay."

Adele did not see any drastic changes in her life after she started college.

"But what about boys, you are so beautiful surely there must be no shortage of people asking you on dates ,"Myra giggled.

"You will be disappointed to know but nothing like that happened, "Adele meant it.

Yes, there are few boys who talked to her, but either it was regarding academics or something casual nothing romantic .For a second Hudson's face passed through her mind, she has seen him in the campus and he was too friendly and joyful with everyone so that did not mean he is interested in her or she is something special to him.

Either because of her no nonsense personality or her being poor boys did not approach her as Maya described.

"Really, I find it hard to believe, even I got asked twice for a date,"Myra stated.

College is surely a life changing experience in one's life .We are at a stage where we want to be focused yet have all the fun in the world as we think this is the golden period in every student life and once you enter the real world there will be no turning back you will have responsibilities on your shoulders.

This is the first time most people stay away from home, it is the loneliness that haunts them the most. They either found some hobby or get into a relationship to kill the boredom.

They knew not every relationship will be successful but it's nice to have another human with you to share a pizza on a rainy day, check whether you reached safety when you took the last metro or give a tight hug when you broke down due to stress of deadlines.

Myra also knows she may not find her forever or soul mate in college but she was open to dating.

She did not have much expectations just that he should have passable looks and share common interests with her. Unlike Adele Myra was not always thinking about her academics or career, she did not think every moment of her life should be dedicated to achieve some greatness.

Adele and Myra were friends but their personalities were so different.

Suddenly they heard someone crying so they stood up to see what caused the chaos.

They noticed one kid was trying to explain something while the other could not stop the tears falling from his eyes.

"Will someone tell me what happened,"Myra demanded.

"He threw my toy and I can't find it now, "the boy complained.

"No, I did not .I was playing with it but forgot where I left, "another boy justified.

"You are a liar, you always wanted my toy but I refused .Since it's your birthday I gave it to you to play but you threw it away because you are jealous that I always have better toys than you,"the boy accused.

"No ,I am not lying .I got thirsty so I went to get my water bottle but by the time I came back the toy was missing ,"the other explained panicking.

Then both the boys started arguing, there were lot of swearing, crying and accusing.

"Enough stop it. I can't take it anymore, "Myra yelled.

"You both will keep quiet, not a word more .I will send you back to your rooms while the others will search the missing toy,"Myra declared.

"Why can't I stay here and help them, "the boy who has lost his toy suggested.

"You both will start fighting again and also distract all of them in searching," Myra said in a stern tone leaving no room for any negotiations.

"Adele, please help these kids .I will make sure they are safely back in their rooms and then join you guys,"Myra stated.

"Sure,"Adele nodded her head and divided the kids in groups and sent them to find the toy in each direction.

Since it was dark Adele had switched on the torch on her phone, she was looking everywhere but seemed like luck was not on her side.

After searching for a good 30 minutes she could not locate the toy, also she had come very far and since it was almost dinner time she needed to go back to the orphanage or else she was supposed to sleep on an empty stomach.

Looks like the toy was truly lost and she may never find it .It was not unusual for kids to lose their belongings ,the boy will feel sad for some time but soon his attention will be diverted to something interesting and he will forget about this toy completely.

Just as she was about to turn she noticed something as she got closer she found it to be as described by the boy.

Finally she found the toy but there was a problem with it, the toy was in the pool.

The water was freezing cold so obviously she could not go inside .The toy was near the edge of the pool ,she tried to take it but she lost the balance and pushed it further .

She sighed and picked the twig which was nearby, she laid down and used the twig to pull the toy closer to her.

After few tries she got the toy but again she lost the balance and thought she may fall into the pool.
