"MAX STOP! MAX! MAAAAAAAX!" I yell as my body thrashes around.

I grab Max's wrist and try and force it up to avoid his hand, "Come here you fucking-"

My knee comes up and connects with Max's groin and Max curls over on his side holding himself.

I get up to my feet and pant out, "And that's. What you get. When you try. To. Smear butter in my face."

I bend down to give Max a hand but he bats it away. I leave him on the floor and make my way to the living room. On my way out of the kitchen I hear Max's high-pitch cry, "maaaaaam... Charlie killed my offspring."

I laugh at his remark as I plop down onto the sofa. Grabbing both the remote and blanket I curl up and put on some TV.

"Hey, love." My mother says as she saunters into the living room, "Your father and I are heading out of town for a couple days. Your brothers are coming with us, too."

A.K.A we're going on a stakeout and then killing some men. But don't worry, it's not the man who raped you two years ago.

"Oh okay..."

My mother sits down next to me and takes me into a tight hug, "are you okay?" She sounds concerned.

"Yeah I'm fine." I reassure her and give her a bright smile.

"Okay, Love." She kisses me on the head, "stop hurting your brother." She smiles at me before getting back up and I laugh at her.

"Fucking bitch hole." My brother mutters as he walks behind my mother.

"You were an accident!" I yell back at him.

"Yeah well...you-" Max stammers, "so were you!"

"Original, Max! So original!" I start to sarcastically clap at him.

"I'll get my men on you!" He whips around and points a finger at me.

"What men? Oh father?" I scoff, "yeah go tell daddy on me." A laugh comes out, "tell daddy you fucking pussy-bitch."

"CHARLIE MAX I SWEAR TO LUCIFER!" Our mother screams out to the both of us. Max and I look at each other and laugh our heads off before a shoe comes flying past my head, skimming me by an inch. I let out a startled gasp as my eyes widen and look up to my mother who is only wearing one shoe.

I listen out from my bedroom for the sound of our front door being open and shut. A good thirty minutes go by before everyone is gone.

"You can come up now." I shoot a text off to Ryder.

"See you in a jiffy ;)" he replied almost instantly.

Not even a minute later I go flying out of my bed when I hear a knock at my balcony door. My head whips around to see Ryder standing at my door. I just out of my bed and open the door for him.

"Where were you? Hiding in my bins?" I question.

"Do you want me to say no?"

"Oh my god, you're disgusting." I shove his shoulder and walk past him to sit on my bed. Ryder joins me and sit close to me practically cuddling.

My stomach knots up but I don't know if it's with butterflies or because I'm uncomfortable.

I'm going with the prior.

Hastily standing back up I go over to the TV stand and pick up the remote, turning on the TV before getting under the covers and getting comfortable.

Ryder and I both decide to watch reruns of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. We watch every episode from season 1 together and then up to episode 6 from season 2. Throughout all those episodes, Ryder has been glued beside me.

I can feel my eyes becoming droopy as my head lulls back. I try and fight off sleep but when Ryders hand comes up and cups my cheek sleep engulfs me.

I'm out cold but I don't miss the words that Ryder whispers into my ear:

"Sweet dreams, Angel."
