"I know I just met you, but I wanted to ask..."
"I'm sorry."
"What?"
In this situation, the only thing I knew to say was "no." This was a person I have never met before. In fact, I have never seen her before until this moment. One thing I do know is that the reason she is talking to me now is to ask me out.
"You are trying to ask me out, isn't that right?"
As I asked the question, the girl's face turned red. "Well...I wasn't..." She hesitated.
"If not, can I leave?" I asked, ready to leave the situation.
"Wait!" The girl grabbed my sleeve. "I...Do you have a girlfriend?"
A smile formed upon my face as I grabbed her hand. "Of course not. I'm gay." I said before pulling her hand away from my sleeve.
In this world, there are two things I hate the most: My name and girls.
My name is Haruta Yamamoto. I was born with this girly name. Now that I'm going through high school, there seems to be a problem. All my life, I have gone to an all-boys school from grade school to junior high. My mom felt that I was moving further and further away from society (meaning she wants me to actually date a girl), so she put me into a co-ed school. Ever since then, girls have been confessing to me left and right. Non-stop. I feel like dying every day. The only thing that brings up my hope is gaming.
I love gaming so much. Ever since my friends showed me the world of gaming, I couldn't stop. I am even on my way now to the Game Shop. The company, Tye Die, created a new mmorpg (Massively-Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) where you use the virtual reality headsets to feel as if you are in the game yourself. Everyone has to buy a character model, however, before they can play the game. That is why, today, I am going to the Game Shop to buy my game and character model.
When I finally made it to the Game Shop, I saw a line coming out of the shop. "What? A line?" I sighed.
Well, I did expect this. The new game would be very popular. Especially since you can feel like you are actually in the game as the character you are playing.
This was my only chance to get the game. I couldn't give up this chance. I decided to stand in that line anyway, even though it was very long.
After a while of waiting in that line, I finally walked into the store. However, as I walked in, there was a "pop" sound to my right. I turned my head to see what happened and noticed that I was suddenly covered in confetti.
"Congratulations! You are our 1000th customer today!" The store clerks yelled out.
"What?" I questioned, still confused about why I was covered in confetti.
"You are our 1000th customer that walked into the store today. That means you gain a prize!"
"Oh, a prize?" I scratched my chin. I didn't mind getting something for free.
As I was thinking, the store clerks brought out the prize. I glanced towards the prize, but I was shocked.
"Ah...I think I'm fine." I rejected the prize. This was the worst thing that could happen.
"What? Are you sure you don't want your prize?" The store manager asked.
"I can't."
"Why not?"
"What do you think! It's a freaking girl character model! I'm a guy!" I exclaimed. This was something I knew I couldn't take. Even if my life depended on it, I could take it.
"That's sad. I'll give it to the next customer then..." The manager sighed.
"I'll just buy this character model here," I said as I grabbed the model off of the shelf. "How much does it cost?"
"$100." The manager smiled.
I had a heart attack after hearing the price. "Um...Is it too late to get that model back?"
