"What?! Wh-What's happening?!" Sophia exclaimed, her voice trembling, as she watched the tense exchange between the two masked men.
"Relax. I won't let him harm you," Cian assured her, his voice calm and collected.
"Oh, so you believe you can protect her from me? It seems young people these days are quite arrogant," the man retorted, a hint of disdain in his voice.
"I'm not being arrogant. I simply have confidence that I won't lose to an old man like you," Cian replied firmly.
"Hoh? Confidence, huh?" The man squeezed the trigger slightly, testing Cian. "Do you honestly believe a young upstart like you can defeat someone as experienced as me? Let me remind you that I am older and superior to you, young man."
"You may indeed have more experience than me, but that doesn't automatically make you superior," Cian shot back. "And don't forget that old age can be a disadvantage in battle."
"Don't underestimate me, boy. I may be old, but I'm not senile yet."
