Chapter 32: A Town In Waiting

"What do you mean 'they've been taken care of'?" Shayla asked.
She finally looked around at everyone that had rescued her. Their clothing was tattered, and their faces and hands were covered in blood.
There had been a battle, and clearly a bloody one.
"It was Gracie. I assumed you had to know that due to the spell she put on you that caused you to lose all your wolf powers?" asked Evan.
It hadn't dawned on Shayla that it had been Gracie. She had pushed her so far out of her mind that she hadn't really thought about her in a long time.
But it all made sense now.
"I broke the spell," said Shayla.
"Well, not really. The moment the spell broke is the moment we ended Gracie's life. She was strong, her magic made her almost untouchable, but we found a way and she no longer lives to hurt another of our family," said Liam.
