Arielle felt the room was getting quieter. She looked back and found Ronan was reading a book that she did not know where it came from. The girl stopped painting for a moment, causing Ronan, who didn't hear the sound of the pencil and canvas again, to stop reading.
The girl looked up.
"Ronan?" she called softly. Ronan put his book on the couch. He reached out his hand to gently caress Arielle's cheek, which was near his feet.
"Yes, Sweetheart?"
Arielle's cheeks were dyed with red hues from the man's touch. "I feel this is unfair,"
"Unfair? Has something happened to you?"
Arielle wrapped the man's hand on her cheek as she came closer. She rested her head on Ronan's lap with a sullen face. Ronan put down his book to give Arielle his full attention.
"Tell me what made you sad this morning, Arielle."
Arielle rested her chin on one of the man's thighs and looked at Ronan with sparkling eyes.
