CHAPTER 13

WE'RE currently inside the van. Including Santi, Jonathan, Ryan, and Haidee.

At first, I thought they had their car because we went straight to the parking lot where the cars of other students who were old enough to drive were parked. But no, because their driver was there because we are all minors. Though Santi drove me home already that made me kinda confused.

Jonathan is in the passenger seat, while Ryan and Santi are in the backseat, and Haidee and I are in the middle.

We were not far from school when Jonathan asked.

"So, where should we drop you Aizelle?" Jonathan asked before he drank the water

"Oh yeah right? Where is your house?" Haidee added

"In Chan Village"

When I said no, Jonathan suddenly spilled the water he was drinking. Haidee's eyes widened as she looked at me.

"W-why?" I wondered

"You live there ?!" at the same time Haidee and Jonathan said that I already had the full attention

"Uhm yes, why?" I still have a question

"Because-"

*ahem*

Haidee couldn't continue what she was going to say because of Jonathan's loud cough.

There was silence for a few seconds until I thought of speaking.

"Haidee what are you saying—"

"NO! Nothing hehe nothing" Haidee interrupted the others I would say

Weird.

WE ARRIVED in our house and I saw my mom at the gate, waiting for us.

"Oh hi ma'am, my name is Haidee a friend of your daughter" Haidee was the first to introduce herself and approached mommy

Haidee wanted to shake mommy's hand but my mom suddenly hugged her.

Mom usually hugs people she met.

"Oh hello there Haidee, I'm Aila Martin, and please drop the formality and call me auntie" mommy said after their hug

Then he looked at the three men behind us.

"Hi boys!" mommy greeted them

"Hi auntie, I'm Jonathan it's so nice to meet you!" happy greetings from Jonathan

"My name is Ryan, nice to meet you" Ryan greeted politely

And just like what my mom did to Haidee, she also hugs them.

Then he turned to Santi

"Then you must be Santi?" my mom said while smiling at him

"That's my name, Madame"

Like everyone else mommy also hugged Santi and then looked, wrong, I should rather say that mommy just stared at Santi while there was a smile drawn on her lips.

"Uh, mommy, let's go inside" when I caught mommy's attention

He was just looking at Santi while smiling, even though it seemed like Santi just didn't mind at all, it was still awkward.

We walked into the house and Mommy, Haidee and Jonathan led the way. While I was behind them and Santi was behind me.

I don’t know why but it makes me feel uncomfortable while walking and Santi is behind me.

Upon entering the house, I first told them that I would just change my clothes so I went straight to my room.

Wearing a simple light blue dress I went downstairs and noticed they were not in the living room.

I heard a noise from the kitchen so there I went straight. And I wasn't mistaken because they were there while looking at a book lying on the table. Wait — that's a photo album containing my pictures when I was a kid.

Jonathan and Haidee smiled broadly while Ryan smiled slightly and there was no reaction on Santi's face as Mommy happily explained each picture.

I approached them and looked at the pictures.

"Oh, that's when I was in Grade 1, I ate a lot of ice cream, and then I turned out to be very dirty," I said laughing

They turned to me while laughing.

Except for Santi, of course. There was no reaction on his face when he turned to me. But there's something in his eyes that I can't explain.
