Late into his house

Claire had her eyes glued to him as he drove, she admired him and gradually began to have butterfly fluttering in her stomach because she replayed his voice apologizing to her. It was nice to hear him say sorry with that voice.

"Claire," she looked away when she noticed he was going to look her way.

"Yes," she answered as she looked through the window, she could also see that they were close to his house.

"What were you staring at?" He asked.

"Huh?" She was confused for a moment because she was shocked that he knew.

"Why do you like romance?" He asked because it had been on his mind what he was going to do after cooking. Was he going to just go to his room and stare into space? Or will Claire stay with him?

It had always been in his mind, what he was going to do because everything was still new to him. Being rich and able was new to him and he didn't have friends, not even the ones his brothers had because they were so not his type of people.

He wanted a friend he could go farm with, a friend he could hunt with and stay up at night in the grass staring at the sky and talking about their dreams. But none was here in the city, the city was more like a punishment to him.

"Because it's... beautiful," she answered.

"How is it beautiful, Claire?" He asked, it was already dark and Claire doubted she would go home tonight. Because if she had to, Corey would have to drive her back home which was kind of a waste of time and energy. She'd gladly spend the night in his house and perhaps in his bedroom.

"When you read it how did you feel?" She asked him.

"Well," now it was difficult for him to answer so he questioned himself. "I felt confused but was eager to know the end that's why I spent the whole night reading."

"Okay, so what do think about the romance?"

"Pathetic," it sounded like a question. "Sad and emotionally, he was too gentle to the pregnant girl," and it felt like Donald was against it from her point of view.

Claire sighed while at their front was the car approaching his gate.

"You just haven't fallen in love to know how a man can be when he's in love," she said.

"He'll become stupid and continue to keep up with the stupidity of his lover and keeps apologizing to her so she wouldn't get angry, he will act like a pet."

"Is that the way you see it?" Claire asked. "I guess that's how I act with you. Acting stupid and always doing everything to please you," she waited for him to look at her but he didn't.

"You chose to like me, I didn't ask you to," he had been silent thinking of a better response.

"I didn't choose to, I didn't ask myself to like you, I just... liked you for no fvcking reason you see," she almost cursed again so he looked at her and frowned.

"Then keep hurting yourself," he smirked after witnessing her reaction.

"You are so annoying!" She pouted her mouth and threw a comic at him.

"Claire, act mature please," he laughed as he climbed out of the car as he had already parked his car.

When Claire saw him carrying the bags himself, she went closer to him and asked. "Where are your servants?"

"I sent them away, they are useless," he answered.

"Why?"

"I just said why," his expression slapped her.

"Then, let me help you," she bent to carry some bags from his hands, this brought her face to stay under his face, they were staring at each other and she shocked him by biting her lower lip and winking at him.

Corey just chuckled as she walked away and into his house. She was excited about staying in his house, just him and her alone in the house. The maids had been sent away so literally ever since he had returned home, he had been living all alone. It must have been so boring.

He unlocked the door after struggling with the bags and as they walked in, the lights rose from different parts of the house because he had switched them on. "Your house is so clean and quiet," Claire complimented as they walked to his room.

"I love cleanliness," said Corey. She turned her face his way and smiled brightly at him. Wait, what was the smile for? And why was he bewitched by her smile?

Corey shook his head and focused on the way to his room, the door went opened and the moment she dropped his bags she went straight to his bed to threw herself on it.

"Claire, get off my bed," he said calmly as he arranged the bags in a corner of his room and turned to face her.

"Let me stay tonight," she turned to look at him. He looked sexy and eatable as he bent to arrange those bags, his hair falling over his forehead made him look supernatural.

"It's late anyway," he pushed back to see her looking at him weirdly. He squirted his eyes at her expression. She was playing with her hair and biting her lips, staring at him with sleepy eyes. "What are you... thinking?" He asked.

"Nothing...just... staring...at the figure... before me," she laughed and stood up. "Can I get something to wear then? Your clothes perhaps and where can I take a shower?" She asked.

Corey didn't find anything wrong with her staying at his house and nothing wrong with her using his shower and wearing his clothes, not his brother's clothes though. He opened one of the shopping bags and brought out a big shirt suitable for her. The trousers couldn't fit and the shirt would most definitely look like a gown because she was one small creature.

"Thank you!" She smiled and waited for him to take her to the bathroom.

"It's over there, don't mess things up there!" He told her because the moment he showed her the direction, she went so he had to exclaim.

Corey found his way to the kitchen and rolled up his sleeves to cook something better for dinner. Meat must definitely be involved.
