Stay with me tonight

“Hmmm” Clara blink a few times trying to process the gentle feeling she was having from his touch.

“Just promise me”

“Yeah, yeah, I promise” immediately Jack flashes her mind and she pulled her hand gently away from his.

“I-I have to go now” she stammers.

“Oh. Sorry about that” he helped her stop the taxi and she took off but Zack stood there looking in the direction where the taxi went and smirking and then he looked at his palm and rub it together still smiling.

“What was that?” Clara asks in her head, she has not felt this kind of uneasiness before. “Wow! That palms! they’re so soft that if one is not careful, one will think he doesn’t do any hard work at home.

But why was he looking at me like that? I hope he’s not beginning to like me? No! Stop it Clara shakes her head and one of the passengers shot her a deadly look and Clara came back to herself.

“Sorry” she apologize to the passenger because her hair almost blinded the woman when she shake her head.

She came down and walked to her house, they no longer have a car so she has to walk a little distance from the major road to her house.

She greets a few people along the way before she turns to the road that leads to her house, her mind was on so many things that she didn’t notice Jack standing at the front door.

“Clara!..” Jack called startling her.

“Jack!..” she wanted to say "Just who I’m thinking about" but paused.

“What are you doing here?”

“I-I want to tell you that I don’t trust that Zack guy, he can’t just give us a fake report about Alex and we just take his word for it”.

“Okay, so what do you want us to do? because Sandra told me she was there and saw everything”

“Whatever but I don’t believe him a bit,” he says looking into her eyes and wanting to ask her where she was coming back from but advises himself against it.

“You want to come in?” she asked and Jack hurriedly step in front of her making Clara laugh, she loves him so much but the death of Alex is making it hard for her to think about doing something with him.

They walk inside and Clara made something for the both of them to eat.

“Will you stay with me tonight?” Clara ask Jack and he swallowed, he wasn’t expecting to hear that kind of question but of course “damn it” he will like to stay. But instead, he says “uh… No”

“Why? do you have something important to do tonight?”

Jack searches his head, he has nothing to do but saying yes too quickly will make him look desperate, he’s a guy man for goodness sake and so he went with something like “Hmm, what about you coming to my place we could have fun there” he added.

“Sounds good to me” she got ready to leave with Jack.
