Later that evening, Liu Wei and Lin Mei met up at a local grocery store, the bright fluorescent lights casting a warm glow over their animated conversation. Lin Mei, with her usual enthusiasm, had brought a list of potential rental places and roommates.
"Okay, so here's what I've found," Lin Mei said, holding up her phone. "There are a few vacant places, and some are looking for roommates. I think we should consider the ZUZU apartments. They're pretty popular right now."
Liu Wei scanned the list with interest. "What about this one with Xiao Chu? She's 28 and seems like she might be a good match for a roommate situation."
"Yeah, she looks promising," Lin Mei agreed. "Let's give her a call."
They dialed the number listed on the website, but the call reception was spotty. Xiao Chu's voice was distorted, making it hard to decipher the apartment number. "Two... three..." Xiao Chu's voice trailed off, and Lin Mei and Liu Wei, misunderstanding, noted it down as "303."
"We should text her to confirm, but the website only allows one call," Lin Mei said, a bit flustered. "We'll just have to hope for the best."
The next morning, Liu Wei walked into the office, her mind still preoccupied with the housing dilemma. She spotted Chen Wei in the break room and decided to seize the opportunity. With a charming smile and big, pleading eyes, she approached him.
"Chen Wei, could you possibly help me with something?" Liu Wei said, her voice soft and hopeful.
Chen Wei looked up from his coffee, his expression attentive. "Sure, Liu Wei. What's up?"
Before Liu Wei could elaborate, their conversation was abruptly cut off by the sound of a meeting being announced over the intercom. Sighing, Liu Wei reluctantly pulled away from Chen Wei's side and headed toward the conference room.
As she navigated through the busy office, Liu Wei accidentally bumped into someone. Papers went flying, and she looked up to see a man with striking features and an aura of confidence. Zhang Yan, the Creative Director and the office heartthrob, stood there, looking mildly amused.
"Sorry about that," Liu Wei said, her cheeks flushing slightly. "I wasn't paying attention."
Zhang Yan flashed a charming smile. "No worries at all. Happens to the best of us."
Their brief encounter left Liu Wei feeling flustered but intrigued. As she headed into the meeting room.
