What is she meeting within facing the most feared facts of life? "stop resisting Samantha. You want this I can tell," Raising my head. I look up to stare into those capturing ocean-like eyes that are trying to offer what I think I want but at the same time, I don't think I do. "I don't know Kai," I say in my small voice trying hard to not stutter with my words. I feel one of his fingers under my chin raising my head to look up at him and I find myself drowning in his ocean-like eyes "You do know sweetheart." He says looking straight into my eyes while grinning down at me. I find myself again not being able to pull away from staring at his lips and when he catches where my attention is, he smirks. I turn my gaze away quickly when I am caught staring but that makes him chuckle. I turn my head to the side but I feel the tips of his lips lingering beside my cheek, all the way to my ear. His hot breath on my skin brings goosebumps on my skin while the hairs on my skin stand. "I know you hate this place princess and I also know that you don't want to make good memories here but try me sweetheart, and I will make you feel like you are back home in America."

TRENTON KAI ROYAL

'she will look down at what destiny stored for her and realize it all came from a point of jealousy. Because it knew what was in store for her in time to come.'

"Oh dear son, welcome dear, welcome." My mother hugs me as soon as I reach her.

She texted me when I was on my way telling me she was waiting for me outside. I replied nothing but as soon as my car pulled over, she rushed to me and somehow I was afraid of her falling in the heels she was wearing while she ran at me.

"How have you been son?"

"Good." She smiles at me. "Am glad dear."

"So I have been waiting to introduce you to everyone so come on now." She says again smiling so big that I am afraid her cheeks are not going to survive it for the rest of the night.

"Let's get to it," I say to her and she beams at me happily. Am just trying to get this introduction over with before Samantha gets here because I do not want to take her through that through the rest of the night.

We start with her family.

"Charles." She calls before we even got closer to where the old man was.

Charles is a very old legend of Hollywood. The man was like a shining star because every production he heard to be into turned out to be of only big names and making insanely sales.

He was a producer, director but above all screenwriter. He even has some best selling books under his name, I do not know how he had time to do all that by himself, word out there says that he is very excellent to what he does.

Being in his presence is an honor.

He turns to look at his wife and smiles. He is a very old man who is retired in all of that now I guess he only has time to spend with his family.

"Honey." He calls my mother as she walks in his arms.

"My special guest of honor has arrived." My mother says to him and he brings his eyes on me.

He takes his time looking at me and I do the same not breaking the gaze.

"Trenty, this is the love of my life Charles Howards," she looks up to Charles. "Honey, this is my treasure, my beautiful, amazing, talented son Trenton Daniels." Everything in her sentence keeps me on edge."

I step forward to shake the man's hands.

"Trenton Royal, a pleasure to be meeting you," I say to the man, and at first, he seems unpleasant and hesitant to shake my head but in the end, I don't know what pushes him to give in.

He says nothing as he shakes my hand so firmly probably trying to break my hand muscles but I guess what Charles doesn't understand is that he is an old man getting out of the game, and his hard firm grip can do nothing on me.

He seems to not like me which apart from being uncaring I am to it, it's also fine by me because I am not here to play stepdad-stepson games here.

I was introduced to the rest of the people that was chatting with Charles before we interrupted him.

We walk away and Mom introduces me to everyone I will be working with within the company that attended, she introduces me to her group of friends.

"Amy! Amy! Amy?! How would you hide a handsome, eye candy son like this from us?" One of her friends asks and I turn to smile at her awkwardly.

Mom chuckles. "Oh, I thought I told you guys that I had children."

"Oh, you never mentioned among them children one of them could petty me."

"Stop it, Kesha," Mom says.

"Baby, don't listen to mom. Your baby mama is a sweet little kitten that knows when to please, respect, eat, and satisfy the king of the jungle."

"Oh my God, Kesha am not going to stand here and pretend not to hear you hit on my son so stop. No trenty let's leave." She reaches for my hand and pulls me from her friends.

She tells me to go upstairs to meet with her stepchildren.

She has three girls, two are my age. I get introduced to the firstborn and then the last.

The second happens to not be found. We stand at the top of the living on the second floor beside the railings looking at everything going on down.

"I don't think there is anyone left that I have not introduced you to yet?" She is saying but I am not paying attention.

My attention is on a little appetite small girl in a red dress who looks like a cute little deer lost in a place full of hunting. I catch a few men taking their time appreciating my girl and I feel a twitch in my gut.

"Is there anyone that I have not introduced you to yet? No, I don't think so."

"Mom come, there is someone that I have to introduce you to," I say reaching for her hand and pulling her with me. We walk to the stairs. "Who is that? Did you meet someone already?" I don't bother answering her.

We are getting close to them when her beautiful honey-like gaze turns to look at me my mom walking to where she is. Her eyes widen, clearly surprised speaking volumes to her face.

We reach to where she is.

"Theodore," Mom says and I frown.

"Long time no see."

"Good evening madam," Theodore says nodding his head to my mother. Mom says nothing to him and it makes me feel something for her again the same thing she made me feel that I have tried to bury this whole time but I have not been able to do so.

I guess old habits are hard to change or I guess some people never change.

"Mom, that is not who I wanted you to meet," I say and she looks at me.

"What baby?" I step away from her and walk closer to the love of my life I realize she does not want to notice.

I get engulfed in Samantha's rose petals smell instantly as I step beside her.

"Mom meet Samantha Adams, my girlfriend, my love. Darling, this is my mother." I look at Samantha as she beams happily at my mother.

"Ma'am, it's so my pleasure to meet you. Jesus I never knew in this life I would ever meet you or fall in love with your son. I grew up with you as my idol." Samantha says to my mother and I smile at her cuteness.

"But in all seriousness, professional, mature. It's very lovely to finally get to meet you." She gives her her hand to shake but my mother just stares at it. "Mother," I call through gritted teeth. I swear to the living God that this woman doesn't know what she is playing with if she dares not to greet back Samantha.

Times seems to stop before she finally smiles.

"So cute, come here cutie." She says pulling Samantha in her arms and am still on high guard trying to understand if her actions are genuine or not.

I didn't spend much time with my mother to know her well but one thing I know about her well is that I am so sure that she is not a good person.

They pull back and she smiles at Samantha. "Silly of you to think I would just shake your hand. I have heard a lot about you." She says and when she turns to look at me I raise my eyebrows at her.

"Not from my son, his looks are starting to send daggers at me thinking am lying but am not." She says and Samantha laughs at the beautiful melodic type of smile that she possesses.

"It's from my tabs I kept on my som but trust me as I say this beautiful woman. Meeting you is truly an honor. The woman who captured my son's heart." She raises her hand onto Samantha's cheek.

"You surely have captured mine too darling."

Mom says to Samantha and at least she knew how to Play that.

I still don't know how to feel about my mother's actions now but for now, I guess I have to go with her being the good person she is trying to be for the night.

"Silly girl, don't cry." When she says that I pull Samantha back and bring her close to my chest.

"Darling, what is it?" I whisper in her ear. I don't pull back to stare at my mother when I hear her camera phone app flash with a flashing and picture sound.

Samantha pulls out of my chest. She looks up trying to take back the tears threatening to fall on her beautiful cheeks.

"I don't know why I am so emotional tonight." She looks back at my mother. "Thank you for accepting me ma'am."

Mother smiles at her. "One last hug?" Samantha nods and they get back closer and hug again.

"Sweetie, start learning to call me mother please but if it's too much go with Amy at least." She whispers to Samantha's ear. I don't know if I hear it on purpose or if it's a coincidence but I won't misjudge my mother.

"Ma'am is too much and neither is Amy but I can't force you to call me Mom, whatever you choose I will come around."

"No, Mom is fine and it's my privilege really, thank you so much, Mom."

Mom smiles before looking at me. "I like her." She mouths but I guess even Samantha catches it.

She finally excuses herself to go make a speech saying it's the time to do the purpose of the night.

When she finally left us alone, I turned to Samantha. "Are you okay darling?" She nods.

"Very okay. Your mother just made my night, no, she just made my life and I don't think she knows it."

I lean in and leave a kiss on her temple. "We will let her know darling."

We stand there as my mother walks to the podium they made at one of the walls in the living room they face the outside, where there are some people too.

"Good evening everyone." She says calling people's attention as soon she gets on the podium and be handed the microphone.

"Assemble up everyone, get closer." She says.

"Let's get straight to the good part of the night." Everyone starts getting closer to the podium and the ones that were outside start walking in.

"Dear family, friends, co-workers cheers." She says raising a toast.

"I thank you all for taking your precious time to come and celebrate with us Howards, and me Daniels. Two teams in one." She says jokingly and everyone laughs.

"Tonight we are celebrating two things, first it's me officially resigning from my position as the CEO of Dan empire but putting in charge, the firstborn of all my lovers Trenton Daniels." She says smiling at everyone before everyone applauds her.

"Let's welcome the star of the night." She says and I know am the one being called on the podium.

I turn to Samantha clapping happily along with others, I lean in and kiss her on the cheek. "I love you, darling," I say into her ear before I retreat to the podium.

Mom is smiling at me and just looking at her smile at me, look at me like she is doing now makes me feel an intrusive pit of sadness in my heart.

I would have given my life back when I needed her to treat me like she is doing now, I would have paid whatever cost to have seen a mother back when I needed her as I have now in front of me.

"Another around of applause for the star." She says again once we pull away from a hug and everyone else does like she just said.

"Say few words, son." She says in a small voice for only me to hear. I nod my head before I reach for a microphone.

"Hello everyone, as said, am know as Trenton Kai Royal. Thank you all for coming to celebrate Mrs Daniels resignation from his post as a CEO. She did a lot of good deeds in her time and helped a lot of young careers get somewhere, she did a lot, something that she will never be forgotten for." I say and when I turn to glance at her, she has tears in her eyes. "Thank you all for coming to celebrate with us the legacy of this womanly legend, keep enjoying the night everyone," I say before they applaud one more time.

I walk off the podium with Mom and make my way back to Samantha.

"You know you did look like a star like your mom said as you stood up there." She says and I grin at her.

"I just hope I shined for you and only you up there." She shakes her head.

"No, am pretty sure you shined for everyone out there to see, especially girls. I swear I caught some drooling over you."

"Like I am drooling over you?" I ask back and she smiles. "Are you?" She asks bringing her hand on my chest right at the top of my heart.

I look into her deep brown eyes before I start leaning in closer to her. "Let me show you, darling." I capture her lips and kiss her like there is no tomorrow like we are the only ones present in the room like there is no other, and I want her to have only me on her mind.

I know the woman in my arms has gone through a lot that is past her age and she tries as hard as she can to conceal it every day and tells the world otherwise, she tries to tell the world that no matter what it did to her, she did not break.

I wish her for that but I want her to also be fine and not pretend that she is fine when she is not, and my mission is to get her there. To get her to the pinpoint of life where she will look down at what destiny stored for her and realize it all came from a point of jealousy. Because it knew what was in store for her in time to come.
