The beginning to the end

February-June 2006

"Dear Ace,

New York has been awesome! Though I have tons of work it's been pretty good. How have you been doing? Have you been eating properly? I really miss you and not having you here with me makes me sad, I hope I can see you again sometime soon!

He smiled bitterly reading the postcard, one thing he looked forward to were always her letters.

"Dear Ace,

I miss you a lot. It's getting hotter here in New York work is getting harder, and I can't write to you as often anymore. I hope you're doing great though! Remember when we used to skip class when we had a lot of work? hah I wish I can do that with work here to. I hope to see u soon! Take care!

Tears rolled down his cheeks as he rummaged through the letter filled box. Leaning against the cold stone, the boy shuddered leaning his head back onto the stone as he stared into the sky his teary eyes glistening in the morning sunlight. As he got another letter out the box he shut the box closed as he opened the letter.

"Dear Ace!,

Guess what?!?!? I have a month of off work meaning I can finally see you!! I miss you so much I can't wait for the day to come. June 6th, mark your calendar because I'm going to see you again! Isn't that great! I have a ton of surprises for you, I hope you're as excited to see me as I am. I hope you're doing well. See you soon! I love you.

A fresh array of tears rolled down his cheeks yet this time they didn't stop. That was the last letter he received from her before the day she got in an air crash. The girl he loved, the one he planned to spend eternity with was gone. "I love you" he whispered as the color drained from his face. "see you again, my love" he whispered as a smile crept on his colorless face as he slowly faded into darkness, for her, his one and only love, Madeline.
