Lunch Time!

*ding* *ding* *ding*

I looked at Lu and helped him pack up his drawing supplies. We got up and then started walking to the library. We laughed and talked until we reached the doors and saw a sign that read.

'Library closed! Will be open to all students August 31st!'

"Damn, I thought it would be open. Maybe we should find a new place to hang out at."

"Good idea. Let's scope out the hallways."

Lu gently took my hand and led me to an abandoned hallway.

"I've noticed that no one comes here. No staff, no teachers or students."

Lu had a big smile on his face. I giggled and ruffled his hair.

"I've kinda noticed it since we started coming here. Cameras don't even work here. I scooped it out whenever you were absent."

I smiled down at him.

"We can chill out here for both classes."

"Good idea. It'll also give us some time to chat and joke."

Lu smiled at me with a big, goofy grin. Every time he smiled like that it allowed me to see the world in a brighter light. His sweet green eyes along with his adorable fluffy hair made him seem like an innocent cartoon that stumbled into this world by accident. Looking back, Lu always dressed like that. His mom never liked it but his father was extremely supportive. At least she's not part of his life anymore.

"So Melody, what do you think about this place?"

"It's a little creepy but we could get some work or a nap done. Maybe even ditch."

I started chuckling. Lu laughed along.

"Ya know, when you were stuck at home due to lice, I came here for the whole day and nobody noticed that I was gone."

"Wow!"

"Yea. it's the perfect spot."

I smiled and stretched.

"Tired?"

"Very tired."

"Wanna sleep? We have about two hours. Including both lunches."

"That'll be nice. But how?"

"Hold on."

He opened his bag and pulled out a fleece blanket.

"This will keep you warm from the cold floor."

He wrapped me up in the blanket. I started to lay down and rest my head on my backpack but he moved it.

"Lay your head on my thigh. It'll be more comfortable instead of a hard backpack."

I smiled at him and laid my head down. I was so tired from the night before. Must be from all the work. I saw Lou look down at me and gently combed through my hair. He was like a big brother to me. Granted he was like a month older than me but he cared. My eyes felt heavy.

"You can sleep. I'll wake you when it's time to head out if you don't wake up before."

I smiled and yawned.

"Thanks."

My eyes slowly started to shut. I saw Lou smile down at me and pull out his phone. Probably to read or look up characters as a reference to draw later. Eventually, my eyes shut. Drifting off to what I think is a dream.
