He Had Gone Soft, Hadn't He?

Kane was only out for a couple of days this time before Casey came back. Then he didn't come back until January. When he did he was surprised to find that Vera had taken what he said when she only brought Casey a souvenir to heart. 

One of the nurses handed him a card and something folded up when she realized who he was that had been kept at the nurse's station. He opened it eagerly.

'Merry Christmas Kane! I wasn't sure what to get you that would be allowed in here but I hope you like it anyway. -Vera'

Kane took the card and present back to his room before unfolding it. It was the softest blanket he had ever felt and happened to be his favorite color. Green. He had only told her that once but she remembered.
