Feeling the eyes that were directed toward him, Dexter's frown grew severe. He immediately shook his head and went defensive, "Why do you suspect me? I was the one who had given you the information but even that was something I received from my subordinates after such careful and taxing efforts."
"Careful and taxing efforts?" Ilyana scoffed, "You know what Clayton told me? He had been waiting for me. The people here knew that I would come today."
"I didn't say any of those news to anyone, you have to trust me—" desperate, Dexter tried to hold her hand only to find Ilyana's eyes that had gone dark as she glared to him.
"The last time I trusted you thirteen people died! Their bloods are on your hand, Dexter, and mine as well!" Ilyana held Lev's hands and turned toward her car, "Never come near me anymore."
Seeing how Ilyana had left, Dexter's face only turned pallid.
