Trust me

I was mad that everyone was talking about me because of him.

"Just don't listen to them. They are just jealous," says Violet.

I don't have anything that they can be jealous about. I say, annoyed.

"Don't pay attention. That is what they want. Don't give them what they want," she says.

I sigh and take my things out.

This was waiting for me too.

Trouble always finds me somehow.

The teacher starts explaining.

Not understanding anything, I disappear into my own thoughts.

I didn't know how I would survive this.

I hear the bell ringing.

Everyone was packing their things.

Did the lesson already end? I ask Violet.

She nods her head.

"It finally did," she says while standing up.

I quickly gathered my things and went to the teacher.

Hi. I really didn't understand anything.

Could you give me some tips? I ask.

"I noticed it. You spaced out," Ms Isabella says, smiling.

I smile awkwardly.

Sorry about that. I say.

"It's okay. If you need help with anything, just come and ask me. I am in the teacher's room. If you need help with the lessons, ask Nathan. He is my best student. He is a good kid," she says, smiling.

Not you as well, miss. I say.

"Oh, someone else said it as well? It must have been Ms Savannah, right?" she says, laughing.

I nod my head.

"He is a popular boy, and you may have some doubts about him, but trust me, he is a good kid," she says, walking out with her things.

I sigh in defeat.

Violet comes to me.

"Looks like fate isn't on your side," she says.

I know.

What do we have now? I ask her.

"We have an hour's break, so you can use this time to relax and have lunch," she says.

Oh.

I don't really want to eat.

Do you know anywhere where I can go study a bit? I ask her.

"You can go to the library. It is on the first floor. Do you want me to go with you?" asks Violet.

No, it is okay.

I will find it by myself.

"Okay. Be careful then, and don't get lost," she says.

I won't. I say while walking away.

I go into the lift and arrive on the first floor.

Which way am I supposed to go? I say, confused.

Excuse me, do you know where the library is? I ask a boy.

"Yeah, it is that way," he says, wising at a big door.

Okay, thank you. I say, walking into the door.

I sit on one of the tables and walk to the books.

The library was massive.

There were some students here, but not a lot.

The books were in categories.

I search for a maths book.

After a little bit, I found one that was suitable for me.

I go back to my seat and sit down.

I take my things out and start studying for Algebra.

Although I have never gone to school, Dani taught me some things.

I was really good at maths.

He was always amazed at how I could solve equations.

It's just that later on, I started to distance myself from him, so I had to learn by myself.

It was a little challenging, but I always tried.

After a while, someone comes sitting opposite me.

I looked up and saw the last person I wanted to see.

I sigh.

What are you doing here? I ask him.

"I came to help you," he says while putting his bag down.

I don't need your help. I say, but he takes my notes without my permission.

He takes a look at it.

"You are doing the simplifying wrong," he says.

Why do you care? I say, trying to take my notes back, but he grabs my hand.

"Do you want to fail this class?" he asks.

I shake my head.

"Then let me help you. You won't find someone better than me," Nathan says.

If people see us together, I will be the one in the problem.

I can't deal with another one. I say while taking my hand out of his.

"I won't act like I know you then. You need all the help you can get," says Nathan.

Okay, then.

What am I doing wrong?

"When you are simplifying, you have to look for a number that you can divide by both, and in order to do this, you have to first factorise the top and the bottom," he says while scribbling something on my notes.

Can you give an example? I ask him.

"So, for example, if it is x 2 + 10 x / x 2 + 7 x + 10=, the first one is a single bracket. We take the 2, so it will be 2 (x + 5), and the second one will be 2 brackets, so (x + 2) (x+5), and then you divide them together. What will the answer then be?" asks Nathan while looking at me.

The answer then will be ...2/x+2. I say, not really sure.

Am I right? I ask him.

"Yes!" he says, and we high-five each other.

"SHHHH!" says a girl.

We both shut up and apologise to her.

And he tutored me like that till we heard the bell.

I gathered my things and put them in my bag.

I walked away from him.

"Wait, are you really going to act like we don't know each other," he says while taking my hand.

I am really thankful you helped me, but if your 'fans' see us together, I will be the one they will talk about.

You have already brought me enough trouble. I say while walking away from Nathan.

And that is how I went through my other two lessons, trying to ignore people talking about me.

College for today ended, and I walked outside, trying to find uncle, Robin.

"Are you waiting for someone?" asks Violet.

Yeah, I am supposed to be picked up. I say.

"Then, I will see you again tomorrow," she says while giving me a hug.

I smile at her.

See you tomorrow. I say to Violet while she goes in the car.

I had waited for another ten minutes when a motor appeared in front of me.

He puts off his helmet.

Ugh, it had to be him again.

"Do you want a ride home?" Nathan asks me.

No, I am getting picked up.

I don't need your help.

"You have been waiting here for a long time. Why don't you just go with me?" he asks.

I will wait for my uncle.

You can just go. I said to Nathan, hoping he would leave me alone.

"It is almost going to rain. Stop being stubborn," Nathan says while holding a helmet in front of me.

He was right.

It looks like it will rain, and I have been waiting for uncle Robin for a while now.

I take the helmet and put it on.

He asks me where I live, and I tell him the address.

"Hop in," he says while also putting on his.

I get on the motor and slowly hold onto his waist.

I was scared because I had never been on a motor before.

"Don't be scared. Nothing will happen. Trust me," says Nathan.

Weird enough, it calmed me.

I trusted him.

I hold onto him tighter.

He starts the engine and goes.

*Nathan's Pov:*

I smile when she takes the helmet.

This is the progress made.

Although she had been ignoring me the whole day, it didn't make me want to give up.

She doesn't trust me because of what happened last time, but I will earn her trust.

I first ride slowly to make her comfortable.

Bit by bit, I go faster.

She holds onto me faster.

Tingles went through my body.

After a while, we arrived.

She slowly goes off.

I put off my helmet, and so does she.

She gives it to me.

She tries to fix her hair.

I put the helmet down and helped her.

She looked startled at first, but I could feel her calm down.

I looked her in the eyes, and so did she.

I disappeared in her ocean-blue eyes.

It was so capturing.

We both hear someone coughing, and she goes back a bit.

I turned around and saw a man in his fifties.

"Uncle Robin, I have been waiting for ages," she says.

Oh, it is her uncle.

I greet him.

He greets me back.

Someone else comes out of the car too.

"Dad, Emily, you too?" she says.

"Hi, sweetheart. How was your first day?" he asks while giving her a side hug.

"It was alright. You guys forgot to pick me up," she says while pouting.

I smile.

She was soo cute.

"Well, we came, but we saw you going with your friend, so we thought we shouldn't disturb you," he says.

No, it was just that she had been waiting for a while, so I offered to bring her home. I say.

"Aren't you going to introduce us?" says her father looking at her.

"Oh, he is in my class," she says.

"That is it?" he asks her.

Hello, Mr James. My name is Nathan.

I am her classmate. I say while holding my hand out for him.

He shakes it.

"Thank you for bringing my daughter home," he says, smiling.

It was my pleasure, sir. I say to him.

"Well, why don't you join us for dinner?" he asks me.

I was so happy that he asked me because it was a good chance for me to come closer to her family.

But before I could answer, she spoke.

"No, father. That is unnecessary. He has something to do, so he can't join us, right?" she says, looking at me.

Uh, yes.

Thank you for the offer.

"Make sure to join us when you are free," says her father while smiling.

It's a deal.

I will surely come next time. I say while putting on my helmet.

See you tomorrow, Mia. I say to her and leave.

*Mia's Pov:*

My stomach grumbles.

"You didn't eat anything today?" dad asks.

No, I didn't really have the appetite. I say to him guiltily.

"You stayed with an empty stomach the whole day?" he asks, surprised.

I nod my head.

"You promised me that you would look out for your health."

Yeah, I am sorry.

I was worried about the studies that I forgot about it.

"Let's go eat now and fill your stomach," says father while we go in with Emily.

Wait, uncle, why don't you join us?

"No, it's okay, daughter," he says.

I don't take no for an answer. I say, smiling at uncle Robin.

"Yeah, let's go join us," says father.

I saw he was still hesitating, so I took his hand and took him inside with us.

Sorry for the late updates.

Hope you enjoy this chapter:)
