Chapter 24

"Yes, my mother. Do you have a problem with that?" Jake snapped at the shocked male.

"This can't be; I thought your son died! You told my father he was dead!" Robert said as his thoughts spiraled.

"Rob, what are you talking about? What does your father have to do with my mother? And why did you tell his father I was dead?" Jake asked, very confused. He looked at the two people in front of him. His mother seemed incredibly guilty, and the boy looked utterly in shocked.

"Explain to your son," Rob said, his glare fiery.

"Explain what, Mom?" Jake asked his mother, the female fidgeting with her fingers, a sign that she was caught off guard and was starting to freak out.

"I...I'm the reason why their mother left..." His mother starts.

"Okay, but what has this got to do with me? Jake asks his mother, not quite sure what is going on.

"Go on, tell him," Rob said, almost threateningly. She didn't do anything or even look Jake in the eyes.
