Susan Hawk tightly clenched the spoon in her hand, eating the meal in front of her with her head bowed.
The air fell silent once again, and both of them stopped talking. Ethan Carter closed his mouth knowingly, looked up at Susan, and enthusiastically said, "Want to try this dish?"
"Ah, sure." Susan kept her head down, casually responding to Ethan's words.
When she took the plate, Susan's movement was a bit rushed, and she accidentally knocked the plate to the ground, spilling the food and soup onto her dress.
The sound of the glass plate shattering on the floor snapped Susan back to reality.
She looked down at the mess, her expression becoming even more flustered. She squatted down and was about to pick up the glass shards.
"Huh?" Ethan walked around the table to Susan's side, but she was quicker than him.
By the time Susan squatted down to pick up the shards and pricked her hand, Ethan knew it was already too late.
