Treasure's heart raced wildly in fear. She couldn't believe she actually had the guts to say and do that to Pamela. Her outward appearance looked calm and a bit collected but internally she was sweating profusely.
The news spread wide and everyone in the cafeteria came to watch the scene, snapping and videoing them.
Pamela was still trying to get over the shock and embarrassment Treasure put her in. The annoying thing was that Treasure threw the cup at her and left the scene calmly.
Pamela couldn't take it, she lunged at Treasure but someone blocked her. Students gasped and went into an uproar.
IT WAS LINCOLN!
"Don't even think about it, not on my watch." Treasure wondered why everyone suddenly screamed and shouted in surprise. She looked back to see Lincoln standing in front of the angered Pamela.
"Oh...so now she finally wooed you too?" Pamela let out an evil laughter. Cynthia, one of the spoilt rich girls dragged Pamela away.
"The culprit should report to the principal's office immediately!"
The small speaker hunged up at a corner boomed loudly, everyone fell into utter silence after that.
Treasure didn't even know how to react. When Pamela spilled juice on her no teacher noticed, but now she was caught...RED-HANDED!
"That serves her right!"
"You'll get expelled!"
"A problematic b*tch!"
Students sputtered hurtful words at her as they left the hall. Lincoln walked up to her with his hands hidden in his jean pockets.
"For a day act stubborn...don't go." Treasure who was battling within herself on what to do was eventually pulled out by Lincoln.
"WHAT!" She had a shocked expression.
"You heed to my advice and now am helping you out."
"By telling me not to go to the principal's office?...Dude!" Treasure yelled at him in frustration. The hall was a bit crowded with students heading out noisily. Lincoln took this as an opportunity to help her by taking her hand and dragging her out of the hall unnoticed.
"Let me go! I ain't gonna be a rebellious person, not today and not ever!" Treasure struggled hard as she made that statement. Lincoln didn't listen at all, he simply did as he liked.
They found themselves out of the school building, through the secret passage used by rebellious students. He stopped and faced her, still holding her left hand.
"If you knew my advice would land you into trouble...then why did you do it?" He calmly asked her, though there was impatience in his voice. Treasure stopped struggling, her eyes darted about abashedly.
"For your info what you did back there was an act of rebellion...you were being defiant!" Lincoln stressed his last line so it could get into her head. Treasure's eyes were fixated on him in wonder.
"Since you've finally agreed that am right let's get going shall we?" Treasure shook her head in refusal and Lincoln released her wrist.
"You're free to do as you like....you come with me or you report yourself to the principal's office for SUSPENSION! either way, you choose." With that, Lincoln rotated and resumed walking. Treasure didn't want to disappoint her mom so she silently followed him behind.
Lincoln smirked when he heard her light foot steps.
-----***-----
She humiliated you!
She dragged your name in mud!
She even did stupid things to make people hate you!
Was that your BEST FRIEND!
Treasure couldn't still handle this betrayal...it was worse than heartbreak. Her mind was so muddled up that she didn't even realize they had already left the school premises. Lincoln didn't bother to say a word, he just kept walking ahead of her in total silence.
WAIT!
Treasure stopped...why was she following this dude just like that!
When Lincoln couldn't hear her footsteps he turned round to face her nonchalantly....why was he so PERFECT!
"I also wanted to leave school, its so boring, all I want is to do something much more fun...trust me, ever since I saw you I had a feeling we'll be good friends."
"Why do you want to be my friend?" Lincoln pushed his lips forward and rolled his eyes in thoughtfulness.
"Easy, I have a crush on someone and since both of you are close....it would be much easier for me to get close to that person through you." Treasure replayed his speech in her head and gasped in surprise....
"So the almighty Lincoln has a crush...now am so convinced in following you...who could that be?" Lincoln didn't bother answering, he just spun round and resumed walking slowly. Treasure had to run up to him so she could be on the same pace as him.
"Who could that be?"
Treasure blocked him, she needed answers. One good thing about Treasure was that she gets easily distracted from depressing stuffs, it was only when she started thinking or stay alone in a quiet room would she feel the whole weight of what had been happening, causing her to turn depressed and weep...
"You don't trust me so why should I tell you all of a sudden...I gotta trust you first...I also have trust issues you know." Lincoln explained and Treasure frowned in disappointment. They kept strolling for five minutes more, landing them in a nearby town.
"Had I known I should have just taken my bag with me....rather than go back again." Treasure grumbled.
"Don't worry Tress, I got you covered. When we get back I'll give you a lift..."
"HELL NO! I don't need another round of people sputtering nonsense about me." Lincoln stopped walking and stared at Treasure in wonder.
"I never knew you could be this noisy and loud....I thought you're calm and collected...like ANTI-SOCIAL."
"I am anti-social...its just that I really need to make few friends... At least to forget things...especially male friends." Treasure put her hands in her back pocket and resumed walking with a somber look.
"Now there's the girl I've been looking for." Treasure raised her head and looked around earnestly.
"Who? Where is she?"
"Its you, you dummy...the look you had earlier and the sad-" Lincoln froze when his eyes met someone. Treasure followed his line of sight, it was another very eye catching guy but the other guy looked more feminine than manly.
Lincoln's eyes had a sad and annoyed look as he kept staring at the other guy until....
Their eyes met, Lincoln gasped in surprise and shut his eyes tightly before looking away.
Treasure wondered why Lincoln acted that way. The guy across, at a mall in an elegant clothing simply just turned and entered the mall.
"You shouldn't have stared that way Lincoln, gay guys are very sensitive!" Treasure scolded him and he yelled at her.
"SO AM I TRESS!"
Treasure trembled at the tone he used on her, this was the very first time he lost his cool...
