CHAPTER 31

*Sly's Mansion*

Sly is going on a trip to meet with executives about the hospital and she can not lie that she will miss him so much.

She will be greedy to tell him not to go and she's not sure if she can tell him to go with her but she made up her mind to ask him the next day since it was late at night.

*Morning*

Sly woke up looking forward to seeing Jewel again. She has given his life a meaning, she has given him the energy to move forward.

Before she came into his life, his life has always been empty but now he knows that life can be more interesting and there is nothing more he needs.

Getting up, he did his morning routine. He opened the door to see Jewel waiting for him. He wondered why she didn't knock but perhaps she was trying to skip any teasing he would use on her.

He smiled at her and she returned the smile. There is something I will like to tell you, Jewel said going straight to the point.

Hmm, what makes my Jewel this serious? Go ahead, he said.

Can I come with you to meet the executives? She asked even though she knew he might use this to tease her.

Sorry darling, you can't, he said sadly not teasing her. He has tried to talk to the executives to let him bring Jewel with him but they refused. He has thought over it if he should reject their offer then he asked Jewel who was looking down sadly;

Should I reject their offer? Sly asked.

Huh? Jewel asked shocked.

Should I reject their offer for you? Sly asked.

Even if this would be a great step in his career, he was ready to give it up for Jewel.

To Jewel, it felt like many butterflies in her stomach and her face turn pink.

He was ready to give up this important meeting for her?

She wanted to say yes but won't she be greedy?

There's no need for to do that, she said still blushing.

Are you sure? Sly asked wanting her to say her mind. He would have thought she has fever if not that he knows the reason her face turn red.

Hmm, she hummed.

Don't worry, I won't be long, just two days and I am back, Sly said.

Though, he said it was just two days but it looks like eternity.

Two days was just too much, she screamed in her mind.

I'll be going now, Carl and Clara will come and kill your boredom, Sly added.

On hearing that, her face brightened a little but just a little.

Sly have been thinking of a way to keep Carl away from Jewel because it seems like she was getting fond of him but wait! He was jealous again.

I will go now, Sly said and gave her a kiss on her forehead and left her to turn to more red than a tomato.

Jewel touched her forehead where Sly kissed her and smiled. She didn't know why she felt extremely happy. The sound of the doorbell cut her thinking short.

She opened the door to see it was Carl and Clara.
