A little fortune

Clutching onto the key, Liz knew not why Mr Matt gave this to her. Without thinking anymore, she slipped this into her pocket.

Walking away to meet up with Rebecca, Liz ran downstairs as Mr Matt pushed open the door. His weak creepy face had a smile, worse than earlier.

"Just wait and see the power of that key" he lightly chuckled before closing the door.

_

"See you later Liz" a joyful Rebecca waved at her best friend.

"You as well, and don't do anything silly during your stay"

"Understood."

Departing from the girl, Liz strolled down the street. She could have taken the bus but decided to have a little walk here and there, viewing and drawing in the little city's fresh air.

Passing by a shop, an elderly woman, in her late thirties called towards her.

"Liz!"

A sudden shock struck her deeply when she heard a stranger dressed up weirdly call her name.

"Uh?"

"Step right up and see what your future holds," the woman said, making Liz realize she was no other than a fortune teller.

"........" Hearing this, Liz wanted to shrug off these words, but a rare feeling pushed her to hear what this woman had to say, "Okay?"

Entering the shop, there were lots of 'witchcraft' items. From the front, straight to the back.

The woman offered her a seat opposite hers. On the table in the front, a medium sized purple orb sat, with what seemed like lightning blasting inside.

Placing both hands on the orb, while rotating them anticlockwise, the woman let out a long humming sound. Before suddenly speaking up with both eyes shut.

"Your future is filled with adventures, lots of adventures many will call unreal. A fantasy which cannot be enclosed. Your Destination is long far from the truth, from what we all can view as reality."

"Whoa…."

"He who falls on your feets is fierce, with the strength of a great warrior, enough to instill fear in all who walks on the earth. He waits for your arrival, your love would be the one and only to hook him by the chain of love."

Those words left Liz speechless, so she begged the fortune teller to break down these words into something more understandable. But of course, she only got a smile.

Feeling frustrated and confused, Liz brought out some money, trying to pay this woman and also signifying her for the time wasted.

However, the woman kicked the money out the window, as she rejected any form of payment.

"Child," said the woman to a stunned Liz, "I'll take no pay from you as you are one special girl. Now go home."

Standing up with an odd smile, Liz thanked the woman before finding her way out the door. Her mind ringing the thoughts of this woman's saying.

'The woman didn't use a tarot card or something like that, just rubbed her hands all over an orb,' She thought walking home, 'Poor orb'

Coming back home, Liz's Mom welcomed her with a hug and also an unexpected news.

"You're gonna be staying with your uncle for a while, he called not quite long when you were at school and well, he really wants to see you for some time"

"For real? When?" Liz happily asked.

"This weekend, let's say for some time more than that. I'm sure you will celebrate your birthday there."

The news was too good to be true. Really happy Liz was upon hearing this.

"Wait a second, Uncle Franklin?"

"Yes?"

Uncle Franklin was a known business man with lots of 'Money'. The CEO of one of the most famous top companies and a social media influencer.

Though wealthy, he had time for his relatives, especially his siblings, niece and nephew. And yet he has no family or wife due to trust issues with those working around him and those who claim to be friends, only there to get his money and for his money. Maybe one day he would get a wife…. Maybe.

"I'm so happy," Liz paused with a thought flying in, "What about–"

"Me?" Jake completed the word as he chewed on an apple.

"Yes you?" Liz said.

"Well, so far so good I've my video games and all my cool friends, I'm sure to live a happy life" Jake smiled with a mouthful of Apple, while walking away into the kitchen.

"Well, that was easier than expected" Liz looked over to her mother who slightly nodded.

Seeing the expression on her mother's face, Liz tongue itched to ask what the problem was, but it all seemed not to go with the jubilating happiness. So, she allowed this to slide off. If something seriously bad happened or was in her mind, the woman would have mentioned it long ago.

"Okay, go wash up before coming down here to eat anything, got it?"

"Got that Mom" Liz speeded off to the bedroom with a huge wide smile.

Shutting the door, she ran towards the bath, flinging her clothes away and wearing a fresh new one.

Within minutes, Liz came out clean, fresh and fast. Leaving the room, she forgot the key Mr Matt gave her in the pocket of her cloth.

"Good night Mom" Liz told her mother as she shut the door, falling on the bed, while landing on a hard object in a cloth.

"Ouch!" The pain from landing on an object, made the upcoming sleep slowly disappear away.

Feeling the part of where this came from, her fingers slipped into a pocket where she took out the gifted odd key.

"I forgot to take this to the laundry room and the key…," Liz raised it up as a rope fell from a tiny hole, making it more of a necklace, "What the hell is this key?"

Rolling her eyes from Mr Matt's strange behavior, Liz wore this as she had no more strength to think about him.

Meanwhile, as her eyes lid fell, the key's red diamond sparkled dully. Trying to sleep again, her brain processed one last thing

"Dammit! I forgot to put this among the laundries!"
