Chapter 62 Contribution Points And Levels Of Ruthlessness.

Tumunomi Escaver woke up early that morning and ran of to shower, getting ready after finding his clothes in the room upstairs.

It was a long sleeved uniform the same color with its pants. And it disgusted him but he had to run downstairs to find his tag before then heading to where he was supposed to be for today's job.

Tumunomi Escaver met a door with colorless walls after several turns and stair cases. Not out of breath because of his daily regimen, he pushes it open as it had no handle and he saw… well he saw a pile that was being placed atop slabs erected so that it resembled elevated beds of stone. Even without taking a clear look, these were clearly cadavers.

The boy paused before hearing loud and brisk clapping which drew his attention.

"Number… 599 I expected a greeting but I assume from your lack of manners that you simply want to get your work down."

A rather tall woman had 'Justina Armidale' in a name tag above her right breast.

"I actually did not se-"

"Get used to it, after 247, you will be next in line."

Seeing the queue behind the gaunt lady covered in a lab coat, he saw his peers staring morbidly at the scene before them. Quite a few held their hands between their heads and stared away or spoke to themselves in futile efforts of consolation.

"Quickly, get in line!"

He walked to the back of the queue and waited for a while before a trolley was pushed into his hands. Similar to the one he had struck at Mrs. Rose Marilyn's superior from, it had a handle for pushing but was more accommodating for bodies as the other one had been for food.

"599, now!"

Running to where the lady pointed, he met a covered body and was helped to hoist it upon his trolley

"That way, move, move, move."

Running as fast as he could, he found the body surprisingly lighter than he thought as he entered an area that climbed in temperature after passing through a thick rubber curtain of sorts.

"Good work."

The next type of coat would not be considered for a lab but it was more like a jump suit. Either way, the oath had become a cylindrical pathway that was cool from its surfaces, meaning that the heat was further down like the glowing light that illuminated most of the corridor.

Running without too much effort, he came to a large room where the bodies were to be put in certain chambers with labels. Standing at each one were people like him. His peers stood beside someone else who hoisted the bodies into these chambers where a knob was twisted and then their bodies covered in light, only to seemingly disappear after a few minutes.

"Next."

He stood at one of the lines and waited his turn before running back up. But what was on his mind now, was how he could incorporate his breathing technique into this as it felt like his was doing everything apart from ab and neck work out.

So, he built a schedule of adding flexibility exercises into his repertoire once he woke. And maybe be a few for the abdominals. But this would also mean that after he was down he would call Finim Barboach.

There was less excitement and confusion after the first time. He was in high spirits and enjoyed the feeling of doing a change of his usual routine.

Surprisingly, they were given a break time. Ha! Tumunomi Escaver immediately excised himself to his quarters where visualized his self, did his Breathing Techniques, pushed himself and got peppered with the rattan sticks before checking on his habitats.

All in all, he was not smelling too good but he chose to eat his lunch meal and get to his job over taking a shower before returning for his morbid work. And although he got weird looks, he finished and got a pat on his back when he was down for the day.

Showering first, he slept well and then ate again before his usual cycle.

That night, he circulated his Breathing Technique after opening up the book.

ASSIGNMENT 2

GET WIND UP TO 100%

Tumunomi Escaver frowned at the number 80% and then started wondering if he could somehow incorporate Breathing Techniques to when he went about his day to day business.

The next day, he tried adding his Breathing Techniques as he carried out his job but it felt like a distraction and he almost let the body he was carrying on the tray slip off as his hands or knees would jerk while he was pushing them.

That had dampened his mood but he simply continued his usual regimen. However, after the day of work he ran his Breathing Technique while he lay down and while he was in relaxed poses. Also, he added it to before and after his work outs and also after every time he slept and woke. And this was after he tried out basic attack techniques too against the walls of his room.

Week 1 was about to end when he checked he book and encouragingly saw that things were changing. In fact he was delighted when he noticed that the cadavers felt slightly lighter and he was feeling less tired at the end of the days.

Either ways, he enjoyed his sleep more now because he had so much to do. 3 weeks later, though, the results were evident. Even without the Breathing Technique Manual confirming it, his attacks carried more force than before and the wall did not hurt his knuckles that were starting to have marks around them.

Tumunomi Escaver was happy at first and on a weekend – one month after he had completed the first assignment – his roommates caught him present as he was waiting for Jacob to wake up.

"Hey."

John nodded to him, Jake smiled and waved following Andrew who he responded both to in kind. Always, Jacob was up.

"What is it?"

"I know I just started and all but my Chi Growth Rate has drastically reduced. Also, will I be getting other abilities?"

"Good morning to you too."

The boy did not respond which meant he did not care or he was too focused. Jacob went on.

"Did you see any stars on the Manual?"

"Nope."

"… I don't understand that but you should be able to get something out of it at some point. Just keep it up!"

"It was barely an increase of 16.65% for the past month."

"That's okay.*

The boy has not left so Jacob sat up.

"Yes?"

Jacob laughed.

"You already started running your practice even as you stand?"

He nodded.

"Impressive, maybe you'll catch up to me."

That made Tumunomi Escaver laugh as he headed out.

"I'll see you."

The next weekday after he visited Jacob, he was called after he clocked in for work the next day.

"599!"

"Here!"

"Would you kike a promotion?"

He nodded eagerly and Justina Armidale gave him a piece of paper.

"Fill it and return it to me tomorrow."

Going through the motions, Tumunomi Escaver did his usual patterns and would have slept off at the end of it all if he did not remember the paper he had been given earlier that day. Without a pen though, he had to walk back upstairs.

He opened their door and wanted to wait for them to come back. So, he took a shower but they were not still back which meant he was surprised to find himself waking up at some point. The bit was net with total darkness before he remembered he was not in his room.

"Curse you"

"Be damned."

"Screw your 9 generations"

Jacob and John had been the only ones who did not swear, the former sitting up and the latter simply covering himself with a cover to block the light.

"A pen I need a pen"

Jacob laughed and Andrew threw a pillow at Tumunomi Escaver who dodged it with terrible ease.

"Could you have been slo-"

Jake and John were at his sides with their pillows up in the air and Tumunomi Escaver easily spun around them but he did not even see John face before a pillow whacked him to the ground. Then, just as he thought to rise with a helicopter kick, Jake and Andrew had clamped his legs tight, John had locked his wrists and Jacob kept a firm foot on his spin while striking him with his pillow.

"We also gave been working on ourselves."

"I just need a pen."

"We just need a closure."

After a round of helplessly getting whacked he wheezed out;

"Fine… Lets… Talk…"

"Oh, good, so about cooperation."
