For a second, the messenger boy felt scared; was he about to be attacked?

He calmed down his pace and suddenly felt like prey, even though a squad in his batch was all around him.

He could feel gazes trained on him from both sides, and when he maintained eye contact before shaking his head in a certain direction, he knew he was about to be sent out.

The teammate he was looking at gave orders with his hands but the boy had a feeling that it would end in their demise. So, he was frantically waving his white flag but 3 Shockwave Bombs were already in the air.

The boy's knees slammed to the ground and he missed a knife over his head.

BOOM!

When Tumunomi Escaver yanked him and threw him to the side, he caught Jake's malevolent stare at him as he had apparently missed grabbing the messenger boy, himself.

"Leave him for now," their team leader told Jake without looking at him. "Every good story needs survivors."

Jake laughed.

They were panting and bleeding but Tumunomi Escaver had told them to rub RestorativeOintment immediately. Even before they picked their spoils.

Hearing their groans, he walked over to where the bodies were and picked whatever he could frantically.

Stuffing his pockets, Tumunomi Escaver noticed their oddly stiff bodies that were zipped to the ceiling after being under the light past one minute.

Oddly enough no sound happened during the process.

Announcements kept on being made as disqualified participants were called out and Tumunomi Escaver gritted his teeth at the lost spoils.

He tsked and told them to return to their clearing.

The surroundings flashed a painfully bright light that seemed to contrast everything and suddenly threw the comfortable darkness into sharp, sudden and blinding bleakness.

And for the next secind, everyone could see everyone. So, Tumunimi Escaver did not know when his body moved to kick both his teammates, effectively helping them, Andrew reacted slower and luckily missed projectiles shot at him. But John and Jacob had thrown their bodies to trees and avoided any unnecessary injuries.

Shockwave Bombs flew across all sides, along with bullets and sharpened utensils. On his back Tumunomi Escaver slapped a few Shockwave Bombs and generally anything that came their way. John and Jacob picked up the trend first before all of them followed.

However, the laser shooter who had claimed more than just a few, found himself riddled with holes and fell back to the ground.

Tumunomi Escaver was more fixated that the bright aight was becoming dim a little unnaturally and at a slow pace, so he turned to his team.

The computerised voice from up there had been reciting voices as brightest day became darkest night over and over again.

Now, they were behind a tree and hand snuck into the edges of a clearing. Frm an angle everything looked clear and serene.

When a ShockwaveBomb was thrown in, Jacob appeared to kick it back then he slapped away an arrow and dove to the ground o avoid more arrows.

Tumunomi Escaver's voice spurred them to action just as it was faling to darkest day.

In the cover of darkness the violence was still so thick it was simply breathtaking.

On and on they fought until even Tumunomi Escaver began painting hard.

The people left in a coordinated wave as the darkest night began it's transition into brightest day with a few spots of light.

Jacob crawled to Tumunomi Escaver.

"I think they olan yo wear us out."

He pointed and Tumunomi Escaver's haze followed where his finger pointed to see light reflecting off people's faces.

They were going to give the until it became dark again.

After running their skin with ointment that healed them, they simply waited in their clearing.

Night came again after about half an hour and the clearing became brutal fighting again.

When the 3rd wave came, Tumunomi Escaver was frowning so hard, Jake was on the floor, Jacob did not bother hiding because he knew he was being watched and John simply tried to clear his head.

Eventually, it descended to chaos again and the boys were out of everything they could throw when a fresh batch was running towards them in the thick darkness that would not let them see past a meter.
