Chapter 2

I carefully stand to my feet and look up at the sunlight peeking through the leaves that conceal most of it. It isn't much light but enough to assist my journey out of the woods.

I discreetly trod away from the tree I slept at and walk further into the woods that seem to close around me. I feel ensnared inside of this perplexing maze that is growing more and more difficult with each turn I take. Whether I leave a landmark or score a line on a tree, I end up in the same place. I am becoming exhausted from all the twists and turns that didn't lead me anywhere.

Is this trickery just a complex stratagem to throw me off course on purpose? If so, who's confining me inside this place? And, why are they doing this? To prevent me from going on the other side? What's there to hide?
