Chapter 18

"I'm well-aware of that. I'm prepared to die for the sake of these people." In a blink of an eye, I sense the presence of the other monster behind me, placing its hands on my shoulders with an iron-like grip, nearly squeezing them to break my bones.

"To think you used to think rationally," I use my other hand to try to hit the other demon behind me but it dodges and hits me in the back before flinging me into the fire again, trying to burn me alive, "it was a mistake to trust such a weakling to stay away from this massacre."

"Ugh!" I groan loudly when my back hits a sword that hasn't been burned to ash in the fire.
