I took a deep breath and asked her again when she didn't respond right away, "Where is my suitcase?"
Marcellia's face lit up and she pointed to the open window, "A huge bird flew in and stole all our bags."
"What kind of bird?" Cloey questioned.
"An ostrich?" Marcellia unsurely responded.
Cloey burst out in laughter, "Ostriches can't fly, you're so silly."
I folded my arms and narrowed my eyes at her, "I'm the only one that can pull off a lie of that caliber. Tell me where my suitcase is or save your father on your own."
Marcellia sighed, "Fine, I'll tell you what happened, but promise me you won't get mad."
I stared blankly at her, "It's a bit too late for that."
"I met someone in the hotel lobby, I brought her up to the room and when I woke up this morning, she was gone and so were our bags," Marcellia confessed.
