A man from earth gets a chance to go to heaven Or fight monsters. Of course he picks the option to fight monsters.
"Will you slow down? it's hard enough to read this thing!"
A funky VW bug bounced along a narrow muddy road. Laughter could be heard from within. It zoomed across the empty road without a care in the world.
A girl was currently driving down the muddy road, having a ball of a time while a boy was trying to figure out how to read a map. The boy, Darren, struggled to what the map said in the dim car light. The car ran over a huge pothole, causing him to bang his head on the roof. The girl, Lizbeth, laughed at the sight.
"Well, who told me to take this cow path?"
"You admit the sign did say "camp forest green," with an arrow pointing this way."
"I admit nothing without talking to my lawyer."
Getting frustrated Darren threw the map on the ground, prompting his girlfriend to laugh again.
"So much for the head counselors ever finding the camp on their own. I say we stop the car, get out, and start screaming for help."
The car came to a abrupt halt, confusing Darren as he looked at Lizbeth.
"I was just kidding, Lizbeth."
"No, that's not why I stopped..."
"What?"
"No look."
Darren looked straight ahead where Lizbeth was point at fearfully out the windshield. Standing in the middle of the road, illuminated by the car headlights stood a strange man wearing a hockey mask and holding a strange spear in hand.
They both saw what appeared to be a maggot wriggle itself out of the persons neck and fall to the muddy road below.
Needless to say, Lizbeth is becoming more afraid.
"Darren, we better turn around."
"Why?"
Lizebeth stared at the boy besides her like idiot.
"Why? because we've seen enough horror movies to know masked weirdos are never friendly."
She started to put the car in reverse, before Darren grabbed the wheel to stop her. He was staring behind them arren
"Wait!"
The car's back tire almost rolled off the narrow road into a water-filled gully.
Darren turned back and stared intensely at Lizbeth.
"The road is too muddy for us to reverse backwards. You saw what just happened....
If the car falls into that gully we're done for."
They both looked back at Jason with a bit of nervousness. The man had just been standing there in the rain without moving a muscle.
"Do you have any alternate suggestions?"
biting his lip, Darren whispered his idea to her.
"Yeah... we're gonna scare him."
"We're gonna scare him?!"
Darren attempted to pump up a macho attitude in front of Lizbeth, trying not to show how nervous he was.
"That's right. just drive toward him. He'll move. Nobody wants to die."
"That's a freakin' fact. Least of all us."
"Just drive. He'll get out of our way."
Lizbeth could only shake her head. She could not believe she was actually going to try to scare off a person. Her foot hovered over the gas pedal for a moment before stomping down.
The car raced forward towards the man.
Yet he didn't budge.
Before the car could hit the man, Lizbeth pushed the brakes, forcing the car to skid to a stop, inches from the strange man.
Lizbeth turned to her now-less-than-confident boyfriend, not thrilled.
"Yeah, that really scared the shit out of him."
Darren got pissed in response to his girlfriends comment. He leaned over and blasted the horn at the man.
The man also seemed to get pissed too, as he swung the spear and smashed out one of the cars headlights.
"Oh, jeez."
"That's it. We're driving this baby back to town... in reverse."
Grabbing the sift gear, Lizbeth attempted to reverse the car, only for her boyfriend to grab her hand as she started to shift.
"The hell we are."
Darren stared at the glove department and opened it. A .22 revolver was sitting right there, which he grabbed.
Lizbeth stared at the gun, then at Darren, in complete shock.
"Where'd you get that?"
Her question went on a deaf ear as Darren got out of the car. He was scared shitless, but tried not to show it in front of his girlfriend.
"Don't worry about it. Just stay cool."
"Stay cool? You ain't dirty harry. Now stop it."
The man watched Darren's every move with a cold glaze, analyzing the boy in front of him.
With great apprehension, Darren slowly made his way towards the man, holding the gun out with both hands. Staring at the man, Darren cleared his nervous throat.
"All right, scumbag. Get out of the road."
Darren clocked the trigger and aimed at the man's head.
"Now!"
Instantly the man ramed the spear into the other headlight, making the entire area go dark.
Lizbeth who had been watching suddenly had a sickening realization, making her scream and shout at her boyfriend.
"Darren, get in here right now! He'll kill you!"
In some twisted way Darren knew that what his girlfriend said was right, but knowing he's the one with the gun in hand made him have a strange sense of confidence. He only glanced back at his girlfriend.
"Not if I get him first!"
The man suddenly charged at him, ready to stab Darren with the spear.
*BANG*
Darren had fired, landing a direct shot on the man's forehead. Blood splashed out but the man didn't care as he thrusted the spear forward.
Before Darren could even react, the man drove the spear right through Darren's stomach and out his back.
Lizbeth let out a hysterical scream as the man effortlessly lifted up her impaled boyfriend and tossed his limp body aside. The man slowly turned his murderous gaze on Lizbeth.
Through the windshield Lizbeth gasped. Quickly, she tried to drive away.
Before she could step on the gas, she saw something come at her fast. Diving to the other side of the car, the spear pireced through the windshield and impaled itself into the driver's seat.
Lizbeth, now terrified, crawled out of the open passenger door. She fell into the muddy and water-filled gully alongside the road.
The man withdrew his spear from the car and slowly made his way towards his next victim.
Struggling to stand, Lizbeth slipped, badly twisting ankle. Looking back quickly, she suddenly screamed.
The man was above her with his spear poised.
She knew it was hopeless to run, but she tried a last-ditch effort to barter for her life. Lying in the muddy water, Lizbeth dug into her jacket. She scrambled as she pulled out her wallet and removed her money and credit cards.
"Don't kill me, please. you can have these."
She looked up at the man and offered her valuables.
Yet when she looked up, the man was gone. She was amazed.
Where did he go? W
hat's the difference -- she's safe.
Oh how wrong she was.
As she looked behind her, the mans boot crashed down on her head.
*CRUNCH*
His boot crushed the poor girls skull like a pumpkin. Blood, brains and bones splattered everywhere, clouding the water.
The man stood over his victim... her headless body floating in the filthy water, her head in pieces everywhere.
A lifeless hand released the money and credit cards it was holding.
POV change,
I glanced at the distraught blonde haired teen as we drove down the muddy road.
'Tommy Jarvis, the survior of Jason's murder sprees!'
I struck big again!
Jason was never able to kill the dude so now he was bound to chase Tommy, even to the ends of the earth!
I could just chill with Tommy until Jason's comes up and tries to kill him! Perfect plan.
"Uh Tommy, where are going?"
"..."
"Tommy?"
"...huh?"
Tommy seemingly snapped out of some trance, looking at me in confusion.
"I'm sorry I can't..."
"I can't talk right now."
Oh damn, poor dude.
"It's ok man, it seem's like you've been through a lot"
We sat in silence as he drove the truck along the road. I looked out of the window, watching the rain fall.
"...we're heading to the sheriff's office. I need to get help."
"Ah but what do you ne-?"
The truck came to a halt, stopping right in front of a rundown office building. Tommy leapt from the truck and raced for the office doors. I stared at the what just happened for a moment before I realized that Tommy had just left me.
"Hey Tommy wait!"
I quickly got out of the car and raced after him into the building. I burst through the doors, only to be greeted at Tommy holding his hands up at who I could assume to be the sheriff, who was pointing his gun at Tommy.
"Don't shoot. Please!"
The sheriff relaxed after seeing it's just a teenager. But he still had a pissed off look as he holstered his gun.
"You in show business, kid? You sure know how to make an entrance."
Tommy suddenly rushed over to the sheriff, yelling out stuff in a panic.
"You gotta do something! Jason's alive! He killed my friend, now he's coming for me!!"
The sheriff leaned back in his chaired as he looked at Tommy with a tired look.
"Now you better cool out a minute, boy. You already almost got your head blown to pieces."
But Tommy wasn't having any of the sheriff's shit and started to be a lot more aggressive with the sheriff."
"Will you listen, dammit!"
"Don't piss me off, junior. or I will repaint this office with your brains."
Ok that's enough.
I calmly walked over to Tommy and pulled him back a bit, trying to calm him down.
"Tommy, calm down. I understand that you are feeling distraught right now, but we barged into this fine sheriff's office while he was sleeping. We have to be calm here to explain the situation."
I gave him a kind smile along with my words, which seemed to work at calming him. Tommy looked at me before walking away to calm down and be a bit more rational.
I turned at the confused sheriff and held out my hand.
"Apologies sir, my name is August Ramos, a priest in training. Over there is my friend Tommy Jarvis."
The sheriff took my hand and gave me a firm handshake, his annoyance seemed to die down a bit.
"Oh...ahem. My name is sheriff Micheal, sorry for earlier. I've been a bit jumpy recently."
I let go of the Micheals hand as Tommy walked back over more calm now.
"Wait what did you say his name was son?"
"Tommy Jarvis sit."
Micheal circled around his desk and approached Tommy.
"Aren't you the kid whose mother and friends were...."
Tommy looked down at the floor with a bit of saddness in his eyes.
"Yeah. Jason murdered them and..."
"And you've been at some psychiatric clinic ever since, haven't you?"
"Yes, but they released me because..."
Before Tommy could continue, the door behind us burst open.
"Rains stopped. Ya owe me that five-spot, partner."
Another officer came in, which I could assume was the deputy. He walked in with a armload of fast food. He looked surprised to see people here this late.
"Sorry. I didn't..."
Micheal waved in the deputy in.
"No problem, Rick. Come over and meet a former resident here, Tommy harvis and this priest in training."
Rick walked over and put down the food, looking over at us.
"Nice to meet ya kids, I'm deputy Rick."
He looked us up and down, his eyes lingering on me longer before looking back at Micheal.
"But partner, why are these kids even here? It's 1:34 am, ain't no kid should be out this late and they definently shouldn't be out this far."
Micheal and Rick looked at us in confusion as they thought deeply. Tommy wanted to speak up, but I stopped him.
"Sir's, this may sound very strange but can we stay in your jail cell please?"
