The darkness of the small dimly lit room added another gloomy aura to the inside.
On the side of the bed was a middle-aged woman wiping a teenage girl's face with a towel as gently as she could be.
The girl was Lilith. She look frail, her fiery red hair lay under her head and her small exquisite face was as pale as snow, and her pink lips were chapped. She lay there, with her eyes closed.
The woman was so focused on cleaning her that she only turned around when the door produced a creaking sound, showing that someone has entered but she averted her gaze when she saw that it was her second daughter, Sara Beasant.
"She is yet to wake up." Twelve years old Sara affirmed as she stood by her mother's side with her hands on her waist.
"Yes, her parents' death must have hit her really hard, poor girl." The woman, Harriet said with pity as she dipped the towel into the water.
"Shouldn't she be happy now that her parents were gone and she was now free from the prison called home, we all knew how those nobles treat half-bloods like her, actually, if it was me, I would be happy as hell," Sara muttered as she scratched her head.
Grabbing the pillow on the bed, Harriet hit her daughter with it and said angrily. "You should kill us already if you are that eager to get rid of us."
Oh no.
Sara quickly dodged the second hit and corrected herself. "Calm down Momma, what I mean is that if I were in her position, I would be happy, after all, we all knew how hard her life was ." She sighed as her voice changed into one of a sympathy. "See, I don't really know what Lucy saw in the aristocratic life when in the end she was beheaded after being accused of raping her brother-in-law, and then, her father was the same, he was killed on his way back to the Kingdom by bandits."
"That's more of the way she was pitiful, even though she wasn't living with her mother, having to witness her death was a blow to her already, and then her father, the only person that treated her well..." Harriet said, sobbing, after all, Lucy was her younger sister, even though, no one knows that it wasn't biological but at least, they spend more than 20 years together.
Harriet stared at the girl lying on the bed, no, she was looking at someone else through her, and that is her younger sister. The girl looks so much like her sister and the only difference was her purple eyes that she inherited from her late father.
"Lucy is actually a tough person, even though she looks frail to the eyes, she was very stubborn inside and not a pushover, but...but in the end, she lived such a tough life, not being able to be near her daughter, for fear that she would transmit her low moral to her..." She sighed and put the towel in the basin.
Sara stood up and carried it for her as they went out, none of them noticing that the girl on the bed blinked her eyes.
Lilith's eyes finally opened and she look at the unfamiliar surrounding. After looking around the room, she guessed that she was in her Aunty's home already.
"Her father was the same, he was killed on his way back to the Kingdom by bandits..." She heard this part of Sara's sentence and a bitter smile formed on her lips as she rubbed her eyes on her knees.
"The bandits..." She thought, knowing clearly that it was the handiwork of a certain third prince.
At this, her mind traveled back to how she was nearly killed by the scar-faced man and she could help but have mixed feelings as she remember what happened that day.
After disappearing, Lilith found herself lying inside a cave. Black mist surrounded her, and she wasn't able to see a thing through the mist.
She didn't know how she get here in the first place and didn't know if the mist could be poisonous, thus, she tried to call for help and shouted all sorts of names she remembers, but no one appears.
Just as she felt tired and started deciding if she should walk into the mist, a woman suddenly appeared from outside the mist.
Her upper body was naked, while on her waist was a wrapper made from materials that shone neon in the room.
The woman has long red hair, the same shade as Lilith's, and red ruby-like eyes. Apart from that, she was fair, tall, curvy, and beautiful, just like a succubus.
"Milady..." The woman's voice was emotionless as she bowed.
Lilith stared at her dumbfounded.
"I am your demon, Estelle," Estelle said, as she raised her head up.
Lilith stared at the woman confusedly.
What is going on? Her demon? As in the kind of satan?
"W-what do you mean?" She asked, staring at the woman's face.
"Every member of the Luciano clan has its demon, the demon stayed inside them until they were awakened.
There are three classes of demons; succubus, seductress, and beauty, and I happened to fall into the first class,"
Lilith look at the woman for so long, trying to digest the unexpected information she was getting.
However, there was something she didn't understand, her mother's surname wasn't Luciano, it is Longden.
"Well, it might be one of my ancestor's family." She thought.
Anyway, that's not the most important thing, it is the power that Estelle got that she was curious about. After all, she has never seen a supernatural being.
"And what is your power?" She asked.
"My powers, Milady." Estelle corrected. "My attribute is pyrokinesis and seduction is my main power."
Lilith coughed, the second one was expected but she was confused by the first one.
"Attribute? What is that?"
"You know, Milady, there are some people in this world whose family all has the voice that was suitable to sing and some of them would however, choose to dance, do you get it now? but those people would still have the voice with them."
Lilith nodded.
Batting her long eyelashes, Estelle continued. "My other powers are, levitation, transformation, teleportation, and production."
"So... I disappear because you awakened at that time," Lilith said, knowing the answer and Estelle still nodded.
Then Lilith's gaze traveled to her bare big breasts and she blushed a little.
"Y–You should cover that."
"Oh, okay, Milady." Estelle nodded, and she waved her fingers slightly, red magic covered her and soon, she has on a red bright tank top.
"So, do you know how we can leave this place?" Lilith looks around before her gaze finally stops on Estelle.
"Sure," Estelle said, turned to her back, and waved her fair hands, and then, the mists disappeared.
"Thanks." Lilith smiled gratefully.
Estelle's nodded politely. "It is my pleasure, Milady."
They walked outside, the sun has just risen, cool clouds illuminated the sky, and the sun peeks from the east, signaling that it is morning.
Lilith wasn't in the mood to go back to her house—Millward's Castle so she asked if Estelle can pretend to be a village woman and brought her news to the Beasants.
Estelle did as she was told, she transformed into one of Harriet's customer's appearance and went to feed Harriet with the news and so the latter quickly went there.
But Estelle was faster as she disappeared back to Lilith's side after finishing her mission.
It was also then that Lilith realized that Estelle will have to live in her soul, the moment she dies, Estelle would also die.
However, another surprise she got was that the moment Estelle disappeared into her, a dragon tattoo appeared on her back.
And... There was this thing that ruin her good mood after the awakening of Estelle, and it was that she has to study spells.
She has to read some goddamn books!
It was beneficial to her and Estelle, because the more powerful spell she knew, the stronger Estelle would grow.
Remembering all this, Lilith massaged her neck.
Even though she didn't like to read, she will try her best to do so, and get revenge for her dead family.
Determination filled her heart as she clenched her fist hard.
"I can do this."
Then, she heard Estelle's sweet but cold voice in her mind.
"Don't worry, Milady, those that dare to hurt you shall be sent to where they belong, this servant promise."
"I know, thanks, Estelle."
