26. Wait

Jack bent to him and whispered in a thrilled tone "Yes, that was the pole in my head, I'm feeling dizzy even just looking at it, but it would be a shame leaving it there." 

He didn't lie, when the pole was given in his hand the thought of having this gone through his brain made his heart race and his surroundings spin. But before Lenny walked out he asked him to bring it with him, and he thought that it would be cool making a weapon out of it. 

For now he had to hide it in his room as he couldn't even hold it for a long time.

Hunter glared hatefully at this thing and planned to let this thing disappear without a trace.

"We have to talk, bring everyone down please." Loki said to Lenny. He thought they found the High Schoolers and they wanted to apologize. But someone else went first. 

Martha bowed deep to Lenny, and said in a clear voice "Please give me the opportunity to apologize to you and to Emely. I know it was terribly wrong what I did, and I'm sorry!" She hated herself for attacking a fellow woman for her beauty, and even calling her names. She felt ashamed.

Lenny was stunned, and so was the rest. But finally he reacted, even if his sister was his reverse scale, nothing happened, and the person knew her mistake, so it was not a problem. "Yeah, come with me." They went upstairs together. leaving the rest.

Loki said to Lilly "Please bring everyone besides Casper, let him look over the boy for a bit longer while we talk."Lilly nodded and brought the old man. He was just coming out.. He had been sitting on his stool leaving a gap of his door open , and listened to the hustle and buzzle, smiling while wiping the frame of his glasses.

A while later Lenny brought back Dale, Emely, Amanda and Martha, in the room already seated where Jack, Hunter, Loki, Lilly and Nick with their now clean hair, and the old man. Momo was in his room, while Casper watched over Boy nr.3.

Loki filled them in on what had happened, and Lenny buried his face in his hands. "They didn't deserve that."

Amanda bit her lip but chose to stay silent.

The old man asked "What sort of fiend would do that? Because of her medication?" He nodded in Emelys direction. 

Jack answered "That's impossible, the way they were slaughtered looked like some kind of hatred, it was simply overkill." 

"So they had enemies?" Martha asked, but knew after she said it out loud that it was the wrong direction.

Jack shook his head "We have enemies." 

"Let's wait till he reaches consciousness and ask him." Lilly said.

"Till then, let the men take turns in watching out." Hunter declared, and everyone nodded. "Two watching out together, and they get the axe as a weapon?"

"Na, if we have to fight then we just need one person alarming the others. Let everyone look out. We can't have it, that the main forces have no strength for fighting." Jack suggested. He let his eyes wander. "Do we have something to alarm everyone? Is there a possibility to flee?" 

Nick knew the building the best. He was always here to watch over the women, the child and the elder. He never went looting because of this. "There is a fire escape in the apartment above, we should move upstairs, and have everyone together."

"What do you think?" Loki asked. Lenny had a grave expression on his face. "Let's move to the second apartment on the ground floor. The higher we are, the more difficult it is to flee."

Sean grimassed. He had everything cleaned out there so it was possible. The second apartment was deserted, their first stay was in the smaller third apartment. "But if we move downstairs, then we have to nail every window shut to not let the light out, this alone will tell everyone that people live here." Hunter said.

"Let's postpone this till we have heard what the boy said, it shouldn't take much longer." Lilly quietly said.

"Then are we finished here?" Dale languidly asked.

"Yes, let's talk tomorrow again." The Loki nodded.

Everyone went to eat something before going back into their room, with a belly full of worries.
