Life With Cats

Life With Cats is a novel I've worked on for about a year now. It's a warm hearted story about a woman who dies of old age surrounded by the cats she loves with all her heart. She longs to continue living with them, forever. Thankfully and unknowingly the God of Laziness cared for her life enough to grant her another chance. She decides to continue her Life With Cats. Updates coming soon!

Forest Kingdom

That was all that was on the pad. It looks like I'm in the Forest Kingdom though. I gained a little bit of information. But knowledge of numbers? And it only gave me one number. I should have asked for a knowledge skill. Oh well. I can't be too overpowered. I turn to the kitties and smile because I know all of their names already.

I pick up a small grey kitten with white marks on its forehead. This is Dolly. She's the youngest of the cats I still had with me before I died. She's a bit of a troublemaker but she loves a good ear scratch before bed. I give her a loving ear scratch before patting her head.

"Dolly." I feel a gentle breeze and when I look at Dolly, she has aged a bit. She looked a couple months old now. Thank god, they won't age as slow as molasses. She meows happily, and she fully looks like her old self. Her tail is thin but puffy.

"It's nice to see you again, Master." She licks my frozen hand. Oh my god, her voice is so lovely. It reminded me of an 8 year old with the cutest manners. I wasn't super fond of kids in the past, but I knew a couple kids that were so mature at a young age, and she embodied that arrogant but adorable nature. She jumped off the bed, and explored the room a bit.

Next, I pick up a black kitty with green eyes. This is Fern. Fern is the brother of Acorn, sadly Acorn passed away just two years ago. I cried for days and Fern kept me company the entire time. We were both sad to see him gone. I wouldn't let any of my cats experience pain again.

"Fern." The breeze came again, and Fern aged up. He nuzzled my hand lovingly.

"I'm g-glad I can talk to you now, Master." His voice trembles a bit, no no no don't make me cry. His voice is gentle but a bit pained. He probably misses his brother terribly, I do too. I would summon him one day when I could.

"One day Acorn will be able to as well. Don't worry." Fern looks up at me and his tail swings upwards happily. He jumped off the bed, finding a spot to curl up on the floor. It's rare to find Fern sleeping somewhere soft and fluffy. It's his special taste.

This time I pick up two kitties, I love these two so dearly that I struggle to keep myself controlled. These two weren't related but they never strayed far from each other. And if I ever had to take one of them to the vet, the other had to go too. It was a two for one deal. They were both a soft white color, with golden eyes. The only way to tell them apart was that Shiver had a darker pattern on her fur. Silk, on the other hand, had gentle white fur with a pattern that was hard to see except in the sun. I used to joke around that Silk and Shiver were a married couple.

"Silk. Shiver." I can't wait to hear their voices, so I do both of them almost at the exact time. Seeing the kittens age up before my eyes is so interesting.

"Master!" Silk exclaims loudly, it was this excited nature that I often joked would bother Shiver.

"Be more formal, Silkie! Shiver chimes in, reprimanding Silk. Shiver sits up straight and looks menacingly at Silk. He mimicked her movements.

"It's nice to speak to you finally, Master." Shiver looked at him again.

"Yes. It's very nice to talk- to you, Master." Silk's eyes are open wide. He looks so uncomfortable.

"Stand at ease!" I ordered them both. Almost immediately, Silk rolls onto his back and bumps into Shiver.

"You're a disgrace." She gets off the bed, leaving Shiver to his own devices.

"Ah-ah wait for me!!" Silk follows. I couldn't imagine that they were this comical. In my past life, I only imagined that it was possible that they would bicker like this from time to time. Now it looks like Shiver is an extremely formal cat that refused to act like a foolish cat. And Silk was just a foolish cat that fell for an extremely formal cat. I love seeing their characters like this. I can't wait to name the rest. Out of all the cats, I have four that were strays. Dolly, Mystic, Fern and Acorn. All four came from the alleyway outside of my house. Next up is Mystic.
