Chapter 1 : Her Eighteenth birthday

Amelie's POV :

I was standing in the school campus, along with my two besties, Lea and Clair, we were talking about hot gossips around the show biz.

But how should I tell them that it's already the time I leave. Yes, I am standing there in the campus, with suitcase in my hand and bag hanging around my shoulder.

It was little upsetting for me that I am going to spend my whole day without them but what can do? I need to leave.

" Girls, it's already the time I leave ", I said looking at the watch hanging around my wrist.

They both looked at me with sad expressions in their eyes. Yes, I know they don't want me to leave, but it's my Birthday today and I promised my parents that I will celebrate this day with them.

" Awe! Don't look at me with those puppy eyes. I need to go home, I promise my parents ", I said, reasoning with them to let me go.

" But...but can't you celebrate your birthday with us? You always see them anyway, so why do you need to go? ", Lea has always been a cry baby, she just can't do without me.

I know...I know that they had so much expectations and excited for this day. Afterall, I have finally turn eighteen today.

" Lea, don't be sad. I promis, I will return back in two days. Then we will go clubbing and any place which you want to go, okay? ", I said.

Lea, Clair and me, we have always been together for the last five years, from dinner to playing, we don't leave each other alone.

It was the first time, I was breaking their hopes.

Lea Is soft in heart, whereas, Clair is as hard a rock and don't show much expressions on her face. But I can't say that she is cold hearted, because she is very warm.

Clair come forward in my defense, " Lea, let her go, she promised us to come back in two day, she will not break it. You know, it's been a whole years since she last saw her parents. And it's her birthday, won't you give her this present? ".

Hearing Clair, I give her a kiss in the air, she didn't react but smile only.

" Alright, since it's your wish, I won't stop you. Party hard and enjoy your day ", Lea finally agree to let her leave.

I hug them both, I was happy that I have them both.

" Take care of yourself, and don't stay awake late ".

With that, I said goodbye to them and move to the school gate, they both come with me until I reached gate.

We hugged each other once again and I said goodbye to them once again.

My taxi was already here on the side of school gate, I get in the taxi and told the taxi driver my home address.

Right now, I was in taxi, waiting to arrive home as soon as possible. But don't know why, my heart is in restless state.

It's thumping, as if something wrong is about to happen.

It's been an hour since I departed from school, and finally, I reached home.

" Thank you so much, mister. Have a safe trip ".

I get off saying this as I bid the driver goodbye. Ae asual, the house is in quite state, no voice and no movement...

I walked to the door and press the doobell, waiting for dad to open the door and then hug me, wish me happy birthday and take me inside the house while laughing and giggling.

I waited, no one open the door, now I was curious and little upset that why did no one open the door, but I pressed the doorbell again.

" Hurry up, dad. Open the door, I missed you so much and want to see you so bad ", I mumbled to myself as I was too excited.

Again, no one open the door, now I was getting some bad vibes and my heart started thumping again, but I ignored the restlessness in my heart and take out the Keys from the bag.

Since I am the daughter of this house, mom had given me the house Key. So If I want to return home and there's no one, I will not have to wait and can just go inside.

" Maybe, they are not opening the door on purposes, do they have surprise for me? ".

I want to get inside the house so bad and meet them. I am waiting for the surprised. Maybe, they know it's me on the door and purposely not opening the door, they want to surprise me since it's my adulthood day.

I was expecting a lot.

But when I open the lock and enter inside, I moved into disappointed state. Because there was no one to welcome me. The whole house was empty and I couldn't trace a single soul.

" Mom and dad, where are they? They told me to come back home on my birthday, even said they will give me a big surprise...as expected, they forgot about this day ".

I told myself and walk inside the house. Our house is not that big, it only has five rooms, one big living room, a kitchen and a ground apartment. So it has always been easy for me to look for them.

Today, the house is too quite and silent, I felt like it's going to chew me alive, I am feeling lonely but thinking that mom and dad are still inside, I move inside and looking door to door.

I place my bag and suitcase on the side and decided to look for them both in my room. I believe, they can never forget about my birthday since this year is so special to me.

" They must be planning a birthday bash for me, maybe they invited my friends and waiting in my room to surprise me ".

I am still thinking that they are waiting for me. Afterall, it's been a year since I last met them. And now, I am super excited.

I started climbing the stairs. Of course, my room has always been on a second floor.

Since I move out from house, I rarely come home. And those rare days are my summer holidays and holidays between seasons. So I know, mom always let our maid clean my room everyday.

I reach my room and stop outside as the ddooris close, I tidy my dress. Oop! I am wearing jeans today and a fully length sleeve shirt at that, but I had my hair down today.

Thinking that my parents and friends are inside, I open the door.

I was excited but when I did open the door with my eyes close and waited for everyone scream, it did not happened.

Just like previous at the door, it was complete silence in my room. I open my eyes and realised, " Oh! They are not here either ".

Once again, I am disappointed but I didn't give up just there and continue to explore my room. Myabe, they have place birthday gift in the room.

As I said before, my room has always been tidy and clean, not a single particle of dust can be found inside. Everything neat and clean.

" Huh? No surprise, no gift, no trace...where are you mom and dad ", I am sad now and desparetely wanting them to show up.

" I think I should check their room, they must be doing their work in their room ", I convinced myself and once again started to walk to their room.

This...this feeling started to come in my heart again. Once again I started to feel restless as my heart is pounding, I don't know this feeling, it's weird.

" What's happening to me? Why am I feeling this way? ", I question myself as I am walking to their room.

But it's only now that I start to hear some unknown noises, it's like...someone is chewing something very hardly, they are having difficulty is eating it but they are still eating.

I place my hand on my jumping heart and slower my pace, " It's weird, what's with this noises? ", I asked myself once again.

I know I should not be scared, but I can't help it, this feeling that I am getting, it's weird, making me shiver for no reason.

" Emelie, don't get scared easily, mom dad must be doing some experiments inside, and that's why you are feeling this way ", I am convincing myself that nothing is wrong in the house today.

I was walking and before I can understand, I was already very close to the room, just three steps and I will see them.

I am close to mom and dad but my heart says so, sending me some weird signals. As if, telling me to run away...

I ignored my jumping heart again and decided to give them a surprised by appearing suddenly in front of them.

And yes, I did the exact, I walk in front of the room to surprised them. But before I can say something, the words which about to come, went back into the stomoch aggain.

Seeing the following scene, I cover my mouth, I am petrified now.

Seeing them in this situation, made my heart race even more.

Mom and dad, they are both facing the back, I can only see their back. The floor around them, had so much blood, I am scared.

The chewing and gnashing the teeth noise, it seem to be coming from them both.

Mom's white coat is wet in red colour and I seemed to have seen a person laying before them.

I harden my heart and call out for them,

" Mom, dad, what...what are you doing? ".

And just as I made my voice out, they both turn to face me, I now became even more scared. They didn't used their body to move, but their head turn backwords.

Their bloodshot eyes, what's wrong with them? Is it my Eighteenth Birthday gift?
