I was so tired from running so, I stopped running and sat on a bench by the side of the road. Suddenly my phone rang, and I took it out and looked.
Jude Hill.
Shit, I am late for work.
I've been working at a coffee shop since a month ago. I got the job because the owner of the shop was my friend's father. My salary was small, but I could afford to eat a decent meal at least. So I am good for now. I guess, until my mom finds out about my job.
If my mom finds out I'm working, she'll take the money. So I'm hiding it from her. Also it is easy because she is rarely at home.
ugh. I am late. I am 20 minutes late. I am definitely fired this time. Now even Jude can't save me.
Jude Hill. My best friend and the son of coffee shop owner. ofcourse my life saver too.

When I arrived at the store, Jude's father was not at the store. I am safe this time. I changed into uniform and went to coffee machine and started making coffee for customers.
Jude came up to me and looked worried at me. I don't like it when he does that. 'Why are you looking at me like that, dummy?' I asked him, making another cup of coffee.
"I'm worried about you. You look so tired and so skinny. You know, you can tell me anything, right?" he asked me, helping me with my coffee. "Yes, I know, man. Don't worry, I'm fine." I smiled and cheered him, and I felt awkward when he asked such questions, so I walked past him to do something else.
I felt bad for lying to him about my nightmare, but he'll be worried and I don't want him to worry about me, I don't want to talk to him about what happened in the morning. he'll never let me go to that house if he knows I'm being beaten, he'll take me to his house, but I don't want to burden him. His father always said that I was welcome to come to their house at any time, but I didn't want to burden them.
ahh, I feel bad for lying to him...

Jude left for school and I was working. I always wanted to go to school, but I can't. I want to enjoy my teenage years like Jude, but I can't. But Jude didn't make me feel that way. He would always take me to parties and stay with me. He always meets me before going to school and picks me up at work later. I was so grateful to him. I'm so lucky to have such a good friend.
It's 1 p.m. and I'm so hungry that I can't stay still, my eyes were drowsy because of weakness, but I should work. half an hour and my shift will be over.

"Hey, let's go!" Someone patted me on the back, I looked back to see Jude. Seeing him after a tiring day makes me happy. I smiled and nodded at him. I went into the changing room to change into my clothes. I came out and Jude was already out and waving at me like a child. I laughed at his childish behavior.
"Let's go!" he dragged me. I was confused. wasn't he going to drop me off at my house? "Where are we going, dummy?" I gave him a stupid look. He laughed at me and hugged me. "We're going to eat," he whispered in my ear.
I pushed him and stared at him "I can make food at home. Drop me off at home. My mom will be mad at me if she finds out." I spoke to him quickly and started walking in the direction of the house. He grabbed me by the shoulder and pulled me back. "No, we'll eat and it's final. And your mom won't notice you're not at home." He dragged me in the opposite direction. "Come on, I'm hungry!"
I can't say no to him. He probably understood that I was hungry but didn't want to make me uncomfortable. So instead he said he was hungry. I held his hand and walked with him. He smiled at me.
I don't think it was a bad day. It was a lucky day. no, he made it lucky.
