Chapter 10: The Devas
"Asuran Princess, Sylvia of the Indrath Clan" Michael said as he entered the lair of Slyvia who was in shock, "Michael? What do you want from me?" Slyvia said in shock, she of course as the Indrath Chiefs daughter knew who he was, one of the Fourteen Devas
"Ah, you know my name? And of my race, it seems. That will certainly shorten our conversation a fair bit… We know you wish for the auburn haired boy, What's his name again? Athur, that doesn't sound right, Art, that's not it either, Ahu..." Michael began to speak but was interrupted by Slyvia as she corrected Michael "It's Arthur!", "Ah, Arthur, Yes we wish to take the other one, Syre Leywin." Michael said his true purpose.
"He's got a brother? But I didn't "see" that...? It certainly makes sense, there were certain points that have been altered from the original visions..." Sylvia said in shock -Her clairvoyance had proved useful in the past, it had grasped the Fate Branch of Aether allowing it to see the present and future in full, so when the identity of Syre had been revealed she had been shocked, he hadn't been shown in any of the visions she had previously seen with Arthur-
"Ah, that, well that's what's so special about him, he's got no fate whatsoever, he certainly does get affected by other people's fate, but his own? That's where the really special properties of him being Fateless come in, he can change it, earlier in the bandit ambush? He changed fate slightly, it wasn't much as Arthur's fate still had caused him to fall and he was pulled into Arthur's Fate temporarily, but even then he altered fate without even having grasped the Fate Branch..." Michael explained, his voice turning a bit excited at the prospect of a person being absolutely Fateless. 'How would luck and chance even begin to affect him? Is he also absolutely unlucky or lucky? How much can he change from fates plan? How much….' his brain had begun to question the idea.
"...Right, back onto Syre, we require him to help us, he'll be able to alter fate to save us, even possibly help us further, this of course given we train him so that he learns how to use his ability and grasp the Fate Branch as to increase the power and efficiency of it" Michael once resumed from where he was talking. Sylvia was shocked, here were some of the most powerful beings rivaling the chiefs of the Asura clans, and they were seeking help from a one year old human, then again she was going to be transferring her will into a four year olds body who was also the brother of the one year old…
"Yeah, that doesn't seem unreasonable… But then why would you ask me whether or not you can take him? You could have taken him at any point without me knowing, I am only just learning of his presence at this point" Sylvia asked, fully accepting their request but the question of why still remained and so she asked.
"It's because we wish to record a message of him somewhat explaining his circumstances, we will then send the message onto you who will activate it using your will at the time he meets the Elf Diviner, that way we don't need to focus on sending a message towards Arthur" - Michael
"Ok, I guess I will see you once the message will be handed off to me" - Sylvia
"Yes yes, goodbye now, I need to get back to Azazel, he gets so upset when I go talk to others or leave him alone for extended periods" Michael said as he created a portal and disappeared back to where he came from, Sylvia looked at his casual manipulation of Aether that rivaled her own when she was at her peak, she knew what background they had come from, experiments of her ex-husband, that had rebelled and left creating their own home in a dimension they had created by themselves.

"Oh my god, MY BABIES '' Alice yelled as she collapsed, nearly falling off the cliff in the act, only to be caught by Reynolds as he held her close and comforted her, "It's okay, it's okay, we can't think…. We can't focus on them right now Honey, we need to get to Xyrus… We'll come back and hire adventurers to search for them, honey your pregnant right now, we need to get you to safety" Reynolds said as his voice hardened even then he nearly broke and began crying
"HOW COULD YOU, those are our children REYNOLDS! WE need to save them, we can't leave now" Alice screamed at Reynolds, that was the breaking point of him "You think I don't want to save them right now? YOU think I don't want to scale down off of this cliff and check whether or not they are okay? THEY ARE MY SONS, I DON"T WANT TO LEAVE THEM DOWN THERE" he yelled back, as tears streamed down his face as the both of them began hugging seeking for comfort and warmth in the others embrace, only to find sadness and coldness even then, neither of them let go.

As time resumed, Syre found himself being carried like a potato sack by a man with blue horns and blue hair, 'Deus? How did I get here?' Syre questioned the A.I as he was freefalling one moment and in the arms of this man. [ It seems as if time was stopped, then this man and his companion went through a portal and pulled you from the freefall, his companion then left saying some inaudible to the recording and then this man went through the same portal he came from ] 'So I've been kidnapped by people who can stop time' Syre despaired, 'What of Arthur then? Did he survive?' [ Unknown ].
As the blue haired man noticed Syres' awakening, his companion the white haired man came out of a portal and greeted the blue haired man "The asura accepted our terms, she'll send a message to the boy when he talks to the diviner? Is the boy awake yet?" the white haired man asked, "Good, and yes currently the boy is awake" the blue haired one responded.
"Ah, hello there little one, my name is Michael and this is Azazel'' Michael -the white haired one- introduced himself and his partner to Syre, "My name is Syre Leywin… Can you tell me where you are taking me? And if my brother survived? He was falling with me" Syre introduced himself to the couple, "Hm, We are currently bringing you to our home, Gehenna, and yes your brother is alive he was saved by the Asuran Princess" Azazel grunted and responded looking down towards Syre.
"Gehenna? Like hell Gehenna? And what's an "Asura'', And who's the princess? How did you create a portal out of nothing? and how did you stop time?" Syre asked a little overwhelmed by the information and had begun to rapidly ask the two questions
"All will be answered in due time little one, in due time" Azazel responded back causing the group to travel in silence as Syre's brain and rapidly began to create theories on his current situation 'Gehenna? The hell for sinners? I mean these two do look demons, then again he mentioned Asuras as if it weren't their race and the asuras are what basically demons of Hindu mythology, and then there are their names, both of them are the names of an Angel and Fallen Angel respectively, these are some really mixed up connections. He said Asuran Princess like it wasn't their race and they didn't really care for her, if they aren't demons then are they the angels? The Devas?' he thought in rapid succession.
As they arrived at the destination "Gehenna" the entirety of the large world was desolate of life, water and even plants, there wasn't any sun purging the world in a constant darkness, the only reason Syre could even see anything was due to Deus changing his vision and the changes 'Knight/Slayer Breathing Technique' had given him and the use of his third eye allows his vision to be perfect the the darkness. The two "Devas" as Syre put it began to fly over to a small village that was looked lonely in the world of isolation and death, they slowly began to descend over the village causing six of the inhabitants of the village to slowly come out of their houses, each one of them had a variety of appearances;
However the person most noticeable was a man with long black hair that draped over his back, he had two long curved green horns that sprouted from his hair line with five gems in between his horns in a pattern, he had vibrant almost neon green eyes and the skin around the eyes were of similar color to his eyes, he was extremely handsome even compared to the other males in the group, the man with green horns begun to speak in a confidant tone that grabbed everyone's attention "Welcome to Gehenna little one, we will explain shorty, and why we saved you in a moment however, I believe introductions are in order, I think you've already been introduced to Michael and Azazel, But I am Kukulkan however you may call me Kul or Kan as my name is a bit of a mouthful, and I am the leader of the Devas, and I mainly use the Creation and Destruction Branch of Aether" 'So I was right, they are called Devas' Syre thought in victory
A woman with short golden blonde hair with two bangs that framed her beautiful face, long deer like ears that were covered in spotted white spots which were barely noticeable with her hair, large deer antlers sprouted from head though their bases were covered by her hair, her eyes were closed though her face had a permanent warm smile 'She reminds me of mother' Syre thought as his eyes became blurry remembering the last moments he saw of her, "Do not cry little one" she walked forward and began wiping his tears and introduced herself in a soft and nice voice "I'm Diana, and I'm the wife of Kukulkan, though I'm mostly the village healer and I mainly use the Life Branch of Aether"
A slightly tanned man walked forward next, this man had two very large blue horns that sprouted from his temples the horns straight and pointed towards the sky, like the other males in the group was also very handsome and good looking though his was more of a rugged bad boy look, he had amber eyes that shines within the darkness of Gehenna, he had dark brown hair that freely flowed towards his back with some of it going in between his horns covering is forehead "I'm Susanoo and I'm one of the main combatants and I wield a sword, I mainly use the Life Branch of Aether to enhance my physical attributes during battle" he introduced himself with a large boisterous smile.
Another slightly tanned man walked forward after Susanoo walked back, this man had pure white hair that was tied into a neat bun, he had two black jackal ears popping above from his snow white hair, his face had two markings on each side of the check bones looking like whiskers and his two eyes were pure white blending into his sclera "My name is Anpu, I am mostly a researcher who learns of the Death Branch of Aether, I am also the husband of Susanoo" he lazily introduced himself, finishing it of with a smile towards the smiling Susanoo.
After Anpu walked back towards the group a man with two red large red horns and red eyes walked forward he had pure white hair that had looked like a shagged mess, he had two very long ears, his face resembled Michael quite a bit, like the rest of the males he was amazingly handsome looking as if chiseled out of marble "My name is Iblis and I am the brother of Michael, I have no current partner and I mainly use Aevum and Spatium Branches of Aether" he talked in a monotone voice soon walked back towards to group.
"My name is Baldur," a shy voice said, the person who it belonged to was a man with short white hair and two small horns piercing through the hair. He had similar pointed ears to most of them and had purple eyes that looked like amethyst and rather than being described as beautiful or handsome he would be cute.
"That's 8 out of the 14 of us you've met, the others are not so nice to outsiders and don't believe you can help us, you will eventually meet each other as this is a small village" Kukulkan stated as the inhabitants Syre had met slowly went back to their homes, however Diana and Kukulkan stayed and walked near Syre, Diana then picked up the small boy and walked near the house of the both of them.
As Syre finally got seated down Kukulkan sat down with Diana seating next to him "I will now explain why we saved you and who we are" "Okay…" 'Deus begins recording now' [ Yes sir ].
"Adding to that, our current bodies are breaking down, the corpses used in experimentation are finally beginning to decompose, this has caused us various issues like, losing our strength and abilities, losing fertility, which sadly had resulted in the death of my unborn child... the various issues the bodies are experiencing are currently untreatable... Like you, we weren't meant to be created, we were being who at one point where Fateless, however we were tied to fate through an unknown means, that's how we know of your existence we felt a similar presence to our previous selves, so we are putting our hopes to you" Kukulkan finished his monologue waiting for the questions to come rolling.
"What are these branches of Aether you keep speaking of? And how am I supposed to help you at my current strength? I couldn't really do much in the bandit attack earlier" Syre interrupted the man's explanation with a question.
"Ah, right, Aether and its branches are the tree and branches of this universe while mana is its leaves, if you were to take out branches away from the tree it would result in parts of the tree dying as they need it survive as those branches hold the leaves, do you see what is the problem with this universe? Two of the major branches are barely growing however their progress has been paused while the other branches and leaves grew over the two life and creation branches making it harder for us to fix, As for your strength? Sure you may not have that either, but you are Fateless, see you weren't supposed to be here at all, but somehow you are, as for your brother? Well he is fated to be in this universe, as for what being Fateless entails? We'll form what we've experienced in the past, it makes it so you can alter events that were set in fate, currently you can't do much however you have changed some parts, during the bandit attack? Only Arthur was supposed to fall, your birth wasn't even supposed to happen, your technically a magical conception, we hope at a future strength you'll be able to fully cure us and this dimension by altering out fates fully evading out death, however currently what we wish for you to do is to prolong our life or cure some of its effects, again I'm begging you please help us" Kukulkan explained

( Author Note: Another cliffhanger lmao, though I think this chapter was pretty bad I might rewrite it in the future cause it was a bit rushed... please point out the grammar errors I really think I messed up my spelling somewhere or my punctuation it'll be helpful for future viewers and myself )
( Author note: I'm going to stop writing for a while, I'll maybe start updating and writing on Friday, I don't want to burn myself out and I've written like 10 chapters in a week and my exhaustion is really showing with this chapter as if was really bad in my opinion, I might update before Friday if my motivation comes back but it's unlikely )
